what you wana do is go with a 82 jet and open air filter and make sure you tune the idle jet by seeing how the scoot runs. back the idle screw all the way in then out 1.5 times around out.take the scoot for a little ride if it seems like it needs more gas back the idle screw out a .5 times at a time but no more then 2.5 times all together. And also check what kind of cdi box you are useing to see how to make it work at fast rev.you may have to just pull the green wire some needs the box cut.some needs nothing.and also see what kind of drive boss you are useing and rollers. if done right you should get 40 to 45 out of your scoot easy.

The bike (49cc) actually runs fine: 30-35 mph @ 7 - 8,000 rpm.
So instead of a larger displacement needing more gas; less is called for?
I just wanted to install this and run.... lol Isn't it just a replacement part for the 49cc gy6?

If all your wanting is power to climb hills and help maintain your speed against wind resistance..
I would recommend a 72cc bbk or 47 mm, you can also do an 83cc or 50mm bbk, you will need a little heaver rollers in your variator, and as others have said, get a new carb, that you can adjust, and upjet it to about ..

I don't recommend cutting any of your wiring on your CDI, Instead if you find it cutting out as you start hitting top rpms and speed, get a different CDI they are cheap... Some CDI's limit your speed by grounding out your engine to the bike's frame when your RPM's reach a certain point, the wire he was talking about cutting will prevent the CDI from grounding out to the frame, and on some bikes your ignition shuts off the bike that way. So that's why it's not recommended..

I know you are not looking to go faster, but in adding power to get you up hills and deal with wind resistance more speed will be the by product as your variator is probably not opening up completely because your engine lacks the power to do so, or your engine simply don't have the torque to push against your weight, road and wind resistance..

My unmodded 2012 Tao Tao Cy50-A went 40-45. Only full 45 down slight hill.

Installed the parts this morning (2 hours) and it runs great. I have only put 20 miles on it but so far so good. I will leave the rest stock unless there arises problems.

I checked GPS and it was doing 30 mph @ 8,000 RPM. The speedometer is not accurate on most of these bike....
I will check speeds with the 44mm kit later.

You will not gain any top end speed with a BBK alone. Just more torque. To gain speed, you need to experiment with the variator and gearing.I find that 5 gram sliders,and 16/50 gears work very well. Plenty of Off-the-line power, really good improvement in uphill performance,and good cruising speeds 40-45 without WOT all the time.Also 39mm is the stock bore. If you want a good BBK, go with a 50mm.

I say go big or not at all the 44mm kit isn't much better than stock 63cc isn't enough to pull hills. The 50mm airsal with stock head is the way to go but still wasn't enough for me is why I got a 150. It is the perfect in town rider can ride 1/4 throttle in town and get on it and blow by cars. A 50 with an airsal is adequate for town riding and hills and is safer since you can accelerate away from danger. The big bore kits don't increase top speed by much you have change the gearing and weights after you up the displacement to see bigger gains. Most kits on 50s just increase acceleration and hill climb without a gear upgrade. I don't recommend a gear upgrade on a 44mm kit not enough power to pull the taller gear.
