Hey guys, so here is the deal. for the first time in years (and years) I find myself without a scooter or a motorcycle. Obviously this is a problem.  Anyway I was looking for your opinions on what you think I should be riding, since y'know, you guys are our customers and all. Some backstory and ground rules: First off, I'll need to be able to hit mid 50s, so that pretty much eliminates any 50cc 4ts, and unmodified 50cc 2ts. I'm certainly not against modification however, so you can take that into consideration. I don't really want anything larger than a 250, if even that large. We're pushing up into motorcycle territory there. I really like metal bodies, 2t and shifters, but I'm not married to the idea of any of that, so it's an open competition. Anyway, give me your thoughts, since I'm sure you guys have some ideas that I have yet to think of. Thanks! Matt |

Very simple,
Puts you right in 150cc territory.
Now, the question is, you want to maintain 55mph for long, or short distances?
How heavy are you, and you want to ride with or without passenger?
Where are you located, and you prefer cheap (China) or reliable transport (Japan/Korean bike)?

flyangler - Had a Stella and a P200 both a little while back. I think if I found a good P200 I'd jump back on that in a heartbeat. What a great scooter.
prodigit - 175lbs. St. Pete. Mostly solo. Maybe a couple of miles straight at WOT tops. What do you prefer? I like them all, but I have 17,000 sq ft of warehouse stuffed with scooter parts, and the knowledge to repair, so reliability isn't really a concern. Think of it as an opportunity to spend someone else's money. Just a fun question, I'm not holding anyone to anything they put here. Just what would you look for.
tvnacman - The thought has certainly crossed my mind. We have a Bintelli Havoc in our R&D dept, and it is a really nice scooter. And it's orange. I love orange.

If price is your main concern, try out the taotao px150 (power max 150)
I have the nicer looking evo, but the bike inside is rather complex.
I personally decided, for myself,
If I'm gonna buy a Chinese where I will have to work on, let it be simple and cheap; easy to maintain.
If i 'd get an expensive bike, I might as well get a good one with dealer support, that is willing to work on it, probably fuel injection too.
If reliability comes first, aprilia's, bintelli's, vespa, and kymco seem popular.
I like the looks of the kymco.

Bintelli - Jason - Hey man, don't be blowing up my spot! You're right though... 15x15 section of our warehouse where we have one Bintelli Havoc torn down again so Tom can keep on doing what he does = R&D department. lol

tvnacman - We had the Havoc apart once already to install some of the accessories from our warehouse for the Indy Dealer Expo. They come apart pretty easily as far as scooters go. It ended up coming out very nice.
Now he's working on BBKs and finishing up the fitting on the Exhaust we are having made for it. It has a slightly different GY6 variation that ZNEN has been using recently, so there are some fitment questions that we are addressing, and making sure that our parts are correct for the unit.
