So it's been awhile since I wrenched on any scooters, but I figured I give my newly acquired KYMCO People S 200 some new fluids. Oil change was weird....I swear the old oil had a red tint to it. Not sure if it was original since I acquired the scoot with only 123 miles on it, abet being a 2009. Anyways....a new fill of Castrol 10W-40 4 cycle motorcycle oil. On to the gear oil.... no problem other than me trying to put gear oil into the wrong hole !! Doah!! Used to be a snap... remove fill plug, remove drain bolt, drain oil, replace drain bolt, add 90w gear oil til it starts dripping out of the fill hole, replace fill plug/bolt.
No so easy on a KYMCO People.... that sucker just keeps taking gear oil. Must hold damn near a quart of gear oil.
Re-Read manual, drain fresh gear oil, measure out exactly 180 cc's of gear oil, fill and replace fill plug/bolt.
