I just wanted to add I got my 16/37 gears in today(bought the 20 ton HF shop press its awesome) and I love them,,it cruises great at 45(5200 RPM) and at 55 its about 6200-6500 RPM) I dont have a BBK yet so it needs quite a bit of throttle to keep cruising over 45 MPH..only down side I noticed is the clutch is taking a bit more of a beating from the taller gears at start off...might try a performance clutch and lower RPM spring in the future,,but heck,,once you up gear you will never go back, just take it easy at start off on your clutch and you will be fine!!!

I had a , 1200 wing that I put 200.000 miles on .I tried just about every oil I could find and in the end used Amsoil , it also nearly stopped the honda clunk .never was in the motor other than cam belts , if you are going to lots of miles see if you can get a Corbin seat .and found Metzler tires the best for my wing .there a great bike and super on long holidays .bought mine used in 86 with 12,000 miles for $3950 sold it 16 years later for $5500 .cant about that . I got a frind that deals Amsoil and he claims its the best,,I know its good stuff but its so expensive,,and Rotella has not given me any reason to change yet...he said that Purple stuff at walmart is really good too...Im sticking with Rotella its treated me great for over 20 years.

The one that almost sent me to the hospital was a tiny green habenero pepper,,grown in NJ believe it or not..lol..I ate the whole thing raw,,chewed it for 5 seconds then swallowed it,,my gut felt like it was gonna burn up...I drank a $hitzload of milk and it helped out..

If the belt is between 19-20mm thick its good,,idle is a little too high and I think alley hit the nail on the head,,sounds lean on the top,,its definitely a fuel/air issue just not sure exactly where..

Holy smokes,,yeah that big 17mm makes you think you can crank down on it pretty good,,but all you have to do is set the o-ring and give it a little snug.Could have been a bum plug also...surprising from a HONDA..lol
It should come right out like alley said,,heck there is nothing there for it to tighten up on..a huge easy out will do it too,,dont think I ever saw one that big though,,but they have em...

Retired truck driver here = 33yrs and over 1.4 million miles under my azz. I use nothing but Rotella 15-40 in every thing I own. Cars-Scooters-lawnmowers. I did read its not the best for vehicles using a catalytic converter,,cause it may clog them up quicker,,thats the only reason i wont run it in my pup truck...but for small engines its liquid gold...

Rotella is #1 for ALL motorcycles and small engines,,I have been running it for years and NEVER had a problem,,also ran it in all my race rockets,,the store brand motocycle oils are SNAKE OIL,,they just make your wallet light,,the Rotella has a much better additive package,,plus the extra magnesium the small spinners love...Rotella for the win!! I use the T6 Rotella full synthetic and my motor does not sound any louder,,I did notice it runs way cooler and never skips a beat. I change it every 1000 km,,I know its over kill but I enjoy changing it,,its only $6,,and I use the clean stuff that comes out of my scoot for bar and chain lube so its a win win situation....lol I also know a guy who got 30K miles out of a china 150 scoot running castrol synthetic so choose your weapon...

Yes,, Do a free flow exhaust,UNI POD filter,up jet carb, that will get you alot more efficient...you can also get taller gears but you need the power to push them,,so you could even get a 60mm BBK with A9 cam and big port head,,that along with taller gears like 16/37 will get you a higher cruising speed with no problem... I got gears coming this Monday,,gonna see how my scoot pushes them with just the few mods I have in my signature,,plan on getting the BBK real soon too,,Im striving for a comfy cruising speed between 45-55 with a lower RPM 5-6K,,right now I cruise at 45 but tach 6K,,my top speed is close to 55 depending on the terrain and thats around 7500 R's ...
