The Civic with the high performance VVT engine is available only with a manual tranny unless something changed recently. I love a manual tranny, but the Houston traffic will make wear out the clutch very often.

You might call scrappydog and ask. He will need to know what kind of Chinese 250 you have. There are both Honda and Yamaha clones used and parts do not interchange between the two families.

My wife was glad that I chose a scooter for my return to the two-wheeled world. So glad that she bough one too.

Kat - I think you voted for the Troggs because your a "Wild Thing", despite your fondness of Taurus station wagons and Italian scooters. '.

"But then, we all had guns and nobody ever shot his pal for his sneakers either..." When I was in high school, many of the cars in the student parking lot had guns in the trunk, because they went hunting before school. The faculty didn't care because we shot animals; not people. _I guess my point is, I'm OK with anti-lock brakes or linked brakes as long as they are not mandatory. There are riders that don't need them, and they shouldn't be required to pay for them.

Its very difficult to be macho while wearing a plaid, double breasted coat, but I will vote Troggs. I had thought the Turtles had more hits, but I must have been confusing them with the Animals, or cosidering them a part thereof.

"I believe there's no substitute for experience." Agree 100%. The BRC does not teach you to ride. It teaches you to ride more safely. I wish every new rider was able to get "off road" riding experience before hitting the road. The tank slappers, high sides and endos hurt a lot less on dirt. You can make a lot of mistakes on the dirt and still live to tell about it.

Your plug insulator should be a nice tan color. If it looks too dark, jet down. If the plug is lighter than tan, jet up. Running lean is bad for engine longevity.

I feel like Vlad really missed an opportunity. Tsar Alexander III had already freed the serfs. Had Vlad more closely followed the teachings of Marx's "Communist Manifesto", soviets (ruling committes) would have been elected, at least locally. The system of ruling soviets would have been a long way from a democracy, but it would have been a big improvement over Tsarist rule. Vlad was not a Tsar and didn't adorn himself in Faberge jewels. However, to the Russian people, he was just another dictator. He provided the Russian people with "Bread, Peace and Land", but not freedom of speech or a voice in government. It was BOHICA.

Neither man influenced me very much. -John Lennon was a pacifist but I eagerly served in the military. I do love his music. -Vlad Lenin was a devoted communist/Marxist, but I treasure my freedom of speech.

Vlad killed far more people than John, but I don't think that stat alone makes him macho.
