Do yourself a favor.... go test ride a 250. The power plant is soooo smooth and man, huge difference.... A little heavier bike so the ride is sooooo much nicer... try it.... You might skip the 150. Of course the 150's are way more fun, cheaper to mod and by and large easier to work on.... but, good gosh, the 250's are so smooth compared to the 150's. i'd <3 to get a 250 even without test riding one but i don't know if i can wait that long for a new scoot. it'd probably take me an extra 2 months savings to cover the price difference. i'm still nearly a month away from ordering the 150. i need to have it ready by May, preferably sooner so i can workout the bugs before i take my 500 mile round trip. just hope i don't end up stranded 100 miles from home on my new ride. mosquito repellent is #1 on my list, traveling to the west coast of Florida to visit family. last thing i need is a bunch of insect bites while trying to fix my ride in the middle of the everglades. lol

sounds like the perfect fit for you. transportation won't be an issue and it sounds like you can set your own hours. terrific! about your phone bill... if you don't use it much and can get by with only text and talk i'd get a tracfone. i got tired of my over inflated cell phone bill 3 years ago, bought a tracfone for $10 bucks and can get by with the 60 minute reload card 4 times a year. mine has double minutes for life. it works out to about $7 per month. i usually use it to text since it only cost 0.3 minutes.

according to this vid, dieelectric grease will prevent corrosion and arcing. i don't know anything about either product, i don't use anything.

friend from work let me ride his new 150cc taotao evo. my first thought was WOW it has so much power compared to my atm50. my second thought was how in the heck am i going to get anyone to buy my piece of junk scooter? lol i really had no idea it would be that much better. guess i expected acceleration to be about the same with increased speed... nope, not even close. took off like a rocket! i been wondering if i should skip the 150cc and save up for that 250cc but not after today. i'll be more than satisfied with a new 150cc scooter. i feel like a kid counting the days till christmas morning.

speaking of underseat storage. i really wish dealers would list the measurements of storage space. would make it so much easier when deciding which model to purchase. do any online dealers list storage measurements? i haven't seen any. surprised to hear the 54B has little seat storage. i've considered buying that scoot but i don't want a scooter that doesn't have room for my helmet.

hopefully i don't have to do it again. rpm's are now at 7200 on take off which is perfect imo. i didn't check top speed so if that hasn't changed then i'm done. regardless i'm done messing with it for today.

especially if you have 3 clutch assemblies, 2 contra springs, 3 different roller weights and a set of sliders. ugh! i should have just left it alone but nooo the slow acceleration was starting to bother me. i've had my cvt off 5 times in the last 2 days and performance is worse. didn't bother to take any notes... oops. i'm still a little clueless when it comes to the springs. the last test ride had my rpm's up to 8700 and i was moving at a crawl, lol. going to increase the weights and if that doesn't give me what i am looking for then i am going to try and put it back the way it was if i can remember. 1 or 2 more times taking the cover off and hopefully i am done. i'll never mess with the clutch springs again without taking detailed notes.

Check the tire for rub spots. This will help determine what and where it is rubbing. Look at the fender. Give it a shake. Plastics in cold weather sometimes crack or break. very likely this ^^^ my rear fender broke and was rubbing my tire but wasn't making any noticeable noise. i only noticed because of a clean spot circling my tire. my remedy was electrical tape. the broken piece is behind my airbox so you can't even see the tape unless you're looking for it.

for under $1,200 you're basically limited to a china scoot. you'll need at least a 150cc to ride two. be prepared to do basic maintenance and you should get plenty of miles out of a china scoot. if you don't want to spend your time wrenching every week or two then save up for a SYM, Aprilla, Kymco, Honda... this would be my choice if i had $4,000 to spend: or you can get something like this: a little less reliable but only $1,000 delivered. i have plans to purchase the Roketa within a month and then i'll be saving for the Sym.

Just got a 40 pilot from scrappys and it was marked perhaps they are just difficult to see. i bought some from another vendor and thought they were unmarked. had to take a pic then blow it up on my pc so i could identify them.

Your are probably going to try and sell that one so buy a filter. If something comes loose from inside the hose or tank it will plug up the jets and then you will have to do more work to get it running to sell. They are only a couple bucks Bro. Alleyoop think i paid $6 delivered for the one that was on there. didn't anticipate a problem using the old one or would have ordered when i got the new fuel line. i'm going to put one on, just wondering if i should locate one locally and install tomorrow or is it not a big deal and i can wait for one to be delivered? meh, think i am just looking for an excuse to ignore it for now. i don't feel like working on this scoot much anymore.

i replaced my fuel line and filter about 7,000 km ago. the hose i bought apparently was substandard and needed to be replaced again. not wanting to put too much more money into this scoot (since i'm saving for a new one) i bought 3ft of hose and skipped a new filter. figured i would just reuse the one i had. well, i noticed a small crack on one end. attempted to push the hose over the crack and in the process i broke the filter.
so now i am running without a filter until i get a new one. should i make this top priority or can i get by for a week or 2 (100-200 miles)? i tried searching google for info but came up empty. thoughts?

Perhaps both the pickup trigger and the CDI are being damaged by bad voltage from the regulator (just thinking out loud here). perhaps. i really don't want to spend anymore money on this scooter though. so unless it isn't running or the performance is noticeably effected then all my cash is going into a new scoot. looking at my broken cdi again, i don't know if i can get it open without doing more damage. maybe it would be easier to start from scratch. i'll have to research it more when i have time.

If you have fried multiple CDIs you need to start looking outside the CDI for your problem. I suggest you start with checking the voltage regulator. By the way, is you battery life short as well? i burned up 3 or 4 when i first bought my used scoot. i haven't checked or changed the voltage regulator but i did replace the ignition pick up trigger and haven't fried a cdi since. battery seems fine but i don't have a meter to test. edit: oops, i take that back. i did replace another cdi about 2 months ago. installed the new pick up trigger in august. they seem to be lasting longer since i changed the pick up trigger but i don't know if my scoot is functioning properly without a meter or an electrical background.
