I just adjusted what i assume is the A/F needle. I originally set it 1 3/4 turns out just like it was when I rebuilt the carb. I turned the needle all the way in and the idle is a lot closer to "normal". Is it possible this setting can work? Or do I have another problem somewhere else? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

It appears to be down where it should be.

I guessing around 3000-4000 RPM. It spinning the back wheel hard enough that the rear brake can barely stop it.

I haven't had much time to mess with the carb but I did check the choke/auto enrichner and it is bad. My question is could this cause the high idle?

I've double checked that and I'm positive it's in there right.

I've got a 2005 UM X-Speed 50cc that I bought with a blown up motor for my boy. I've recently put a 70cc BBK kit on it, rebuilt the stock mukini carb and changed the stock 70 jet to 80 as a starting point. Also changed all fuel and oil injector lines. Started it for the first time this last weekend and started without to much trouble. Idle came right up and slowed down after a minute or two to "normal" speed. So I assume the "choke" was working fine. Started fine a couple more times over the next day then I removed the throttle cable to reroute it and now everytime I start it, it idles extremely high and doesn't change even after 5 min. I've taken the throttle cable back out many times with no change in idle. Any ideas I'm at a loss???
