is the constant rpm happening with or without the belt on because with the belt on the rear wheel will absorb all the power of the motor causing a flat spot in the rpm curve until the variator is maxed and then the rpm will start to climb up again

the stock starter solenoid can get rusty and stuck its a common problem
however if you can turn the key off and the scooter is NOT still trying to start then that's not the problem
as to improper wiring of the solenoid and starter motor ? not very likely as it is extremely simple
battery power to a manual switch to a bigger battery powered electromechanical switch to the starter
often the break light is inline with the first switch as a safety so you cant start the motor without at least one hand on the break

the starter is going to always get hot that's normal if it is failing to disengage it will make a loud whine and then blow up as soon as you hit the gas so if you still have one... sometimes the starter solenoid can stick causing the starter to run on but its not hard to figure that one out as it will try to start even without the key on
sounds like you have a valve or fuel problem

Hey Leo, good to read you're back in the saddle again. And yes, you know I can sympathize. Sadly my thumb is downgrading instead of getting better (supposed to ice-soak it at night now, and warm-soak mornings, that's 20 minutes less sleep and computering sigh) Go enjoy those pretty TX days for me, hon! >'Kat Kat, Take care of that thumb! You do NOT need it to get worse... Cold and warm soakings will help with pain, but I'm not sure about actual healing. We'll be praying for you, and get your church pals on the job too! The Good Lord is the BEST doc of all! A while back, I hurt my thumb and finally got riding again using a "monkey grip" on the bars... Amazing how much the palm of your hand can "make do" substituting for a thumb... LOL! Look how well monkeys do swinging from tree to tree like Tarzan without using thumbs! I'm trying to remember my old biology... Seems like MONKEYS have TAILS but not opposable thumbs... and APES have thumbs but no tails... or something like that...? I found I could even do panic stops without a thumb-hold. Just be sure to REALLY mash your palm against the back of the grip, or you'll end up kissing the speedometer while grabbing the front fender... LOL! I'll bet you've figured out how to ring those bells "thumbless"... Sorta the same technique! Stay safe, and have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!Leo (Betty too)monkeys have thumbs. In fact they have an extra set on their feet but the great apes do lack tails

the magnetic tab is either glued on vacuum welded or zinc chromated into place
welding temp will destroy magnetism and a magnetic feald will interfere with some forms of welding

yes try to drill it out, if you mess up the thread you can tap it a size bigger or make it a through bolt

depends on your head as to weather or not a muffler will do any good the longer the pipe the deaper it will sound its about three times louder than a very quiet stock muffler

my bike handles e10 just fine but it runs a little bit lean with a little less power and a gallon won't last as long

a 200 cc cylinder is going to have a low rpm power band compared to a 150. I would try a little more slider weight and take advantage of the extra torque you have
seeing as how a 150 peeks hp @6000 your peek RPM is prly less

i think you may want to do a compression test but do it the ez way remove the variator cover and turn the motor over by hand. you should feel some very strong resistance on the compression stroke. if you don't you may need a valve grind

ok fine, you cant read either no need to beat me in the head with it.
what I said was ethanol is 100 octane when pure. ok got that ?
"when mixed with gas at 10% it behaves as if it is 112 octane.
ok, now, the structure of the sentence above precludes gas from being the thing that is 112 octane leaving the ethanol as the only remaining subject matter.
the 9O.7 octane gas that is mixed with the ethanol gets its octane boosted by a little less than 2 9 parts of 9O.7 gas and 1 part 112 ethanol [9×9O.7+112]÷10=X or [9×87+112]÷10=X or [9×68+112]÷10=X X= the new boosted octane number
do you see how the ethanol has a larger effect on very low octane gas? That means it has a small effect on high octane

10 percent ethenol gas is not 110 octane, it's the octane listed at the pump. The ethenol replaces the mtbe to bring the octane to the desired level. When you remove the ethenol, you yet gas full of water, which is lower then even 87, it's about 70 octane, telling people you'll get mid grade gas is going to cause someone to detonate a hole through a piston you know what? if you cant provide a reference for your wacky math you can just be silent on the subject of octane. you have proven to me you are ignorant of chemistry. and I have concerns about your reading comprehension you are not paying any attention to what I am actually saying. so back it up or shut it up
