Hi all
I just started scootin' a few months back when we thought it would be fun to have one. Originally my wife wanted to scooter to ride to work, but it quickly became my baby.
Our original buy (to see if we liked it) was a 2008 Lance Venice 150 with about 1200 miles on it. A friend's son had had it, dumped it on a gravel patch, and would never get back on. Our friend did a bunch of work on it -- replacing a good many parts. The gas mileage was worse than my truck and the battery stopped charging, so it's sat for a while.
In the meantime we bought a 2015 Kymco Campagno 110. I use this for commuting to work; about 13 miles one way. Love it. I teach at the University of New Mexico and, because it LOOKS like it could be a 50cc and there are no markings indicating engine size, I can park it and lock it at the bike racks. I especially love the mileage; I fill the tank as often as I do my truck, but it's only a couple bucks rather than $30-$40.
I'm planning on fixing the Lance up so both my wife and I can ride together for fun. I'm getting ready to order a new rectifier and hoping that will take care of the battery issue. If I can get the gas mileage issue solved, I plan to repaint it.
Being in New Mexico we have lots of great riding days.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to participating in the group and getting some advice on repairs and such.
