After thinking about your right... I would have to cut that one up a little just to make it different. If that's what they have coming out on some 50cc's now then It wouldn't be that awesome to have on mine if a lot of other scooters had it anyway. Time to start hacking away at a spare cvt cover i have to make it my version of awesome.

Was looking around on ScooterDepot and saw this CVT cover on one of the 50cc scooters. Now I must find one one for my scooter. I was thinking about using a dremel on my current one to open up the clutch area but I'm kind of liking the one they use on that scooter. Time to start looking around. Attachments:

ok, I just saw you were in callaway. If you list it in PCB i'm not sure you'll get that price. If you list it in tally you'll be able to get more for it.

700-800 since you're in Tally. It thats about the price I see there when I'm looking online. In PCB we are flooded with cheap scooters so I could never get that much herefor one of mine. Don't you also have a performance exhaust on that scooter? Make sure you list all upgrades you have done to it in your add.

If you are the slightest bit mechanical you could just add a BBK and gears for about $100 and get the speeds your looking for.

I would never just put my number out like that unless I was in parts, sales, or repairs for scooters. (o)

I'm 250 pounds and ride a 50cc that does 32 mph and a 50 with a 50mm bbk. 38-39 mph. They are about 4 mph faster when my son rides them because he is 170 pounds. I'm lucky though because the rode I ride on here at the beach only has a 35 mph limit and you can't even go that fast half the time because of traffic. If i did ride anywhere else I would have to have a 150.

Engine code will be on the (more then likely) on the engine block on the left side front. If your looking at buying a used one get the make and model number from the person selling and research what engine it should have. When you get there you can see if the code matches. If you have net access on your phone you can type in the engine code on the spot and it will tell you how many cc's the scooter is. As far as size I would go with a 150cc if you can find one just to have that little extra power.

If it sat for a long time you may want to drain all the gas out of the tank and lines. If the fuel has trash it then that could explain why it's running bad with the new carb. It also could've taken a minute for the trash to get to the carb. At this point I would pull the carb of and drain the fuel into something that I could view it in. Check the fuel filter also.

Also, If that's the issue scrappy carries a flywheel puller for about $20 and woodruff keys for about $4. It never hurts to have a puller laying around if that's not the issue and it wouldn't hurt to have a new Woodruff key anyway with 6000 miles already on the scooter and now you're adding more power. Just my opinion.

I didn't read all of the replies but if the woodruff key is broken it could be jumping time and making it run like that. I had a bad woodruff key and it made mine sound like a lawn mower and had no power.

CVT is not my thing. Maybe it's one of the guides or something. I'll just tinker with it until I can get it to act right again. I haven't been able to mess with it to much because we have had like 55 inches of rain the last 10 weeks. It's been a horrible summer for riding here or even waorking on the scooter if you don't have a garage.
