ok i'll see what i can acheive here and keep yall updated. i haven't been focusing on it recently. thanks for the help so far!
it has an electric start thats broken, but since i'm halfway there with learning how to fix the kick, i don't wanna start from scratch and learn the whole new science of troubleshooting the electric start. i need to get it running asap. i did learn recently that you shouldn't rely on the kick, so i won't waste much time before tackling the electric, but i really need to get the thing on the road first. then i can start looking at the electric start and i'll have time to poke and prod.

Thanks, I'll try to figure something out
so should I assume there's no rare part im looking for and its definitely the shaft just being stuck?
I've seen shaftless gears like the one in the pic above, but it's for a yamaha, they're pretty rare and it looks like they aren't for QMBs in any way shape or form. Mine isn't a 139qmb, it's a 1P39qmb to be specific, if that matters

Hmm,...there's a notch in the slot the shaft is in on my belt cover. Maybe so it can be pulled out with some kind of tool? I defintiely cant get it out by hand

Hey everyone, I got a couple of questions. My kickstart broke and started dangling and with the power of google i found out how to open up the belt cover and found out what's wrong. Turns out the half-moon gear is basically cracked and needs to be replaced. I was trying to get it off but there's a little "thing"......on the kickstart lever post, so it can't get pulled off. the "thing" is being held by the tool in this video right at the beginning. so a couple questions: 1. what's the name of this tool that will reach into the holes of this "thing" in order to get it off. and will i have to worry about " specs on this tool so I don't get one who's prongs are too big for the job? 2. what's this "thing" called while I'm at it? 3. Is there any homebrew mickey mouse way of getting this "thing" off without buyin the tool? (kinda broke) 4. When I buy a new kick gear does this "thing" usually come with it? in case I bend the original and make it useless. and onto the kick idler, it's fine, but while I'm at it i wanna ask. I removed the kick idler but the shaft stayed on the cover, much like on the video above. i can't get it off and the part that came off basically looks like this.... IE: no shaft, it's still in the belt cover. Yet everything you can buy online looks like this.... Shaft attached. I don't think i broke it, as it can still slide on and off the shaft so my question is... 5. Is the shaft actually attached to these things? Or if I buy one will i be able to slide out the shaft and just use the round part on the shaft that's already in the cover. Do I need a different part? that's really about it, i hope people can help. Lots of questions, but probably only need short simple answers. The bike is a Qlink Rave 50, 49cc with a 1p39QMB engine, thanks in advance!
