Performance clutch torque spring tension may be a contributing factor?
Speculating this may be yet another abuse scenario of a GY6 150cc 50mph engine. Performance enhancements = degraded longevity!

10" wheels should be a GY6 125 short case . . but just curious if you took a case measurement to verify?

GY6 engines require a 10mm spark plug adapter. Some auto parts stores will rent compression testers.

Any chance exhaust is obstructed with carbon, rust, nesting insects?
Might also check for a timing issue by inserting a probe into the sparkplug hole to sense when the piston is at top-dead-center, then observe if flywheel and cam sprocket marks are properly aligned. Sometimes the crank/flywheel woodruff key will shear.
Replacement CDI and ignition coil is relatively inexpensive . . avoid "performance units".

Any insight as to why the Puma branded Znen's were discontinued . . perhaps price competition from TaoTao?
Many Znen importers just do not appear to have their head in the game. Redstreak for example has still not updated their website . . while SSR actively promotes. BMS and Wolf seem somewhat active . . Motorino totally "static" and "web challenged".
Despite their "Benelli" sounding name . . kudos to Bintelli for occasionally participating on this forum and Facebook!

Your troubleshooting strategy does not appear very effective! How about testing for spark and fuel flow. Floor level gas tank with a vacuum-pulse-pump is always suspect . . consider electric.
