No mention of checking belt-width wear? Considering the inconvenience of a road-side shredded belt . . 5,000 mile belt change preventative-maintenance intervals is not unreasonable. The maintenance guide specs 7440 miles.

Loosen the intake manifold clamp and push forward on carb to fully seat before re-tightening clamp. Test petcock with an alternative vacuum source. DO NOT suck on the line with your mouth! If the carb float needle is not seating properly . . might try chucking a Qtip in a drill and polishing the needle seat with a dab of toothpaste.

I prefer to not strain the motor and lower the rpm to rum at speed.(Better for longevity) Always puzzling why NOT initially selecting a scooter with sufficient engine cc's to CRUISE at desired speed preference appears to be a "denial issue"? The 50cc 4-stroke crowd seems to expect their 35mph scoots should go 50mph . . and 150cc 55mph scoots should go 70mph!

I guess what I'm saying is, I got this thing to commute and to have some weekend fun with. The slight performance I gained was not worth it being off the road for a month while I basically had to tinker with it every day. If I bought it as a little project or whatever then I wouldn't be so bent. Absolutely correct! The forums reflect similar aggravation after desecrating a GY6 engine with performance enhancements . . the results are typically less reliability and longevity.
Cylinder head temperature is one strategy to determine the most suitable jet configuration . . example.
There is no known cure for those afflicted with "just gotta tinker with it" syndrome!
Everyone has different performance criteria . . but even some of the 170cc engines may be marginal for highway travel.

Here in NC were I live its predominately 50cc Licker Sickles, you don't need a license or insurance to ride a 50cc "As of July 1, 2016, North Carolina law requires that all registered mopeds have liability insurance coverage with limits no less than $30,000/$60,000/$25,000. Failure to maintain liability insurance coverage constitutes a lapse and may result in the revocation of your valid North Carolina license plate." . . source

Riding position a little cramped thanks to seat hump but it's not enough for me to have buyers remorse as a local auto upholstery shop can take care of that. Related post.

2009 benelli andretti m50 . . 2-stroke engine. No mention of checking for spark or fuel/oil flow when engine quit? If not fuel flow or oil injection related (soft seized) . . may be an ignition gremlin.
