I have my chauffeur in my Bentley towing a motorcycle carrier follow me when I ride just in case it breaks down. Alleyoop Breaks down!!! YOUR scoot break down??? Never happen. The Bently maybe, but not your trike!!! (Kinda like: I bring the girlfriend along, just in case the wife has a headache)

Not to mention that Florida has the most scooter dealers in the USA. (So I doubt Chinese scoot sales will be stopping any time soon,.... too much tax revenue to lose ) And, too many retired folks that still like to ride, but can't hold up a Goldwing.

Let's see, when you ride that scooter of the lot it is then a used 2008 model. Worth what, $1500? I would expect 10% off per year, or 50% off for a 5 model year old vehicle of any kind. The fact they are not willing to discount it is why they still have it sitting there. Also, CFMoto is abandoning that market, so you will probably not be able to even get parts for it. Walking away was the smart choice. Which, is what I was trying to explain to saleslady/wife. It's 5 friggin years old. So what if it still has a warranty. It's not like you're gonna have the parts on the shelf to fix it. Manager/repair tech/husband already said he didn't know what he was gonna do. Fortunately, the Helix is still alive (parts wise) and parts should be no problem. Me tinks a used Helix is betta than a new (5 year old) chinese clone. (not to bash chinese scoots, cause I got 2 of em,) just saying ifin I gonna spend $3999, me gonna look at a used honda/yammy/suzieque first. I do wish em luck tho, cause I'm kinda gettin into this scooter thing. But, gimme a break. $100 off???

Just wait. The Chinese will have one "just like it" in 3 months for $1500.00. Probably LOL And what does the 9 4 6 stand for (on a 150cc scoot)

A radar detector is nice. Got mine from Ebay from China.(Yes the Chinese thing really does work) It was under $20.00 shipped...the size of a pack of smokes and is mounted under my front cowl.It covers all bands and is works out to 1,000 yards! I even tested it. But problems are...you can't hear the 'beep beep' as it's under the cowl..plus engine and road noise. So I wired an LED to the speaker wires..drilled a small hole and silicone glued it into my speedo area. Fixed that..works well. I live in a small town and they stop scoots all the time...for no probable cause.Ask what their probable cause was and they say "I don't need one..you watch too much tv." Anyway all the roads around me are country roads and nothing but farmland. We have a bad problem with Meth Labs out here..so the State boys patrol the back roads heavily. There is very little traffic and therefore I am often the only one on the road or within those 1,000 yards range of the detector... So if his radar goes off..well they know it is me. (only happened once and all he said was."If you are going to go 50mph,please wear a helmet".. so I got lucky. In bigger towns...the city..or heavily traveled roads they would be effective. But I keep in my head if I am ever stopped for violating Michigan's 30mph Moped/Scooter law..I am wrong and they are right...AND for the first time ever...they will actually have a 'probable cause' www.ebay.com/itm/Full-Band-Car-Radar-Detectors-Voice-for-GPS-Navigator-A380-HOT-BE0D-/130760677259?pt=US_Radar_Laser_Detectors&hash=item1e71f1978bMy only question is, By the time the radar detector detects the radar, the cop has already 'radar'ed ya. Meaning he's already got your speed by the time the detector detects......never mind You know what I mean.

Talk to Cookies. But I think they're abandoning the cheaper 250 scooters in favor of a Honda style lineup. That's kinda what I was understanding. Too bad, cause the dealer at my Powersports store, was selling everything like hotcakes. With the emphasis on WAS.

It took me 20 months and 10,600 miles to get my fill of Chinese. Got a used Honda Reflex. Lots of difference. Smoother ride and Honda reliability. Agreed When my GF's Helix Clone Wildfire 150 craps out, it's gonna be a Honda Helix and new plastic. The same scoot, bigger engine and new plastic, she'll be right at home. Just like a new scoot with, again, Honda reliability.

I also found a VERY small air-compressor at Wal-Mart which I keep in the scooter's "trunk". If a tire is ever low, I can plug into the lighter socket and fill it up anywhere. OOOHHH OOHHH (Horschak-Welcome back Kotter) Thanx for reminding me. I got a tool kit, but forgot about the Smile/air compressor I got in my storage cabinet, I used for cross country rides on the Wing, which I'll never ride again. Got plenty of room under the seat of the Trike. Thanx for reminding me Dave

I had read either on here or somewhere else (can't find the thread) that CF Moto was dropping their favored dealerships and limiting their sale of scooters.
On their website, they show 2 650 cc bikes and one 250 scoot and one 250 bike that was the V5 now the CRUZ and a couple unknowns.
Seems they're gong towards ATV's.
So, that being said, I went down to the local Powersports scooter place and asked them if it was true. The sales person (the guys wife) had no idea what I was talking about. The repair tech/owner/husband came out and confirmed what I had asked, that CFMoto was limiting they bikes/scoots they were able to get as a dealer.
They were hoping to get other models from other distributors. And something other than blue for the V5/CRUZ. He wasn't sure what he was gonna do to survive. He's the only 'real' scooter dealer in town. There are a couple Vespa type 'dealers' that are right next to the college, but they just sell em to the college kids.
My GF really liked the one remaining Commutor/Fashion/Helix clone that was left on the showroon floor. A Brand New 2008!!! !! A NEW 2008??? The wife/salesperson said if I bought it today, she'd lower the price by $100. (from $3499 or $3999 - I forget) that they could service it, etc etc etc. That it was great on gas in todays economy, etc etc etc I replied that it was 5 years old, and it was just another toy, so saving on gas wasn't really an issue. I said I'd think about it.
I went home, and saw a Honda Helix on craigslist for $1750, with 7000 miles. If the GF wants one other than red, we can spend another $300 and get new plastic in whatever colour she wants.
Anyway, seems CF Moto is getting out of the scooter business and focusing on ATV's.
But, thankfully, there are still plenty of sites with parts available.
Too bad, cause I really like the Helix clones. Biggest Chinese maxiscooter I could find. (Other than a Lukeous Morphedeous)
Anyone else confirm or deny?
Just putting it out there in the event y'all see fewer and fewer CF Motos.

Cops got to have a good reason to pull you over. For instance if you had a dead body in your trunk (car) and they didn't have probable cause, then the case of you murdering that dead body will not go through in court. At least that's what I have heard a few times from different people. Yes, they 'need' a reason to stop you. And, they will come up with one. I got stopped in the middle of nowhere Colorado at 3AM coming back from Tx, wit the wife and dog. He said I didn't signal when the 2 lane road merged into a one lane road. He had me outa the car, ran my licence, checked the car, and reluctantly let me go. I was told tht they can find anything if they want. OOPSS Forgot about this one: Got stopped for not using my blinker when pulling away from the curb. Got stopped for being in a known drug area. (which can be anywhere now days.) This was on Colfax AVe in Denver, the MAIN STREET from one end of town to the other. It's a main thruway. Got stopped for my lic plate light flashing (loose connection) After seeing I was old and crippled, he let me go. So, Yea, the supposedly need a reason, and they'll come up with something.

I just directly wired in a cig lighter to my battery and hooked it to my handle bars (on my Honda Shadow Sabre) Used the one with the plug to prevent rain getting in. It's only 'hot' when you got something plugged in so no threat of it draining the battery. (used it for my GPS, Fone, etc)
