Noob Zodiac Rider here, Had the Zodiac on the road for about 1 month. Seems to run well enough, good fun. Lots of small issues, loose bolts in particular. Wondering if anyone has had issues with pod bolts? Seems that the 2 main bolts are stripped and will not stay tight. They fasten into a nut that is welded to the metal frame. I think the nut is also stripped. Cannot get to the bolt once the body panel is in place, so the fastener needs to be secured to the frame. I am thinking about drilling out the bolt and retapping with a 3/8 bolt, but I am not sure there is enough sidewall material on the bolt. Other ideas? Got any Pics of what you're talking about? I've had mine for a couple months Got around 250 miles so far (weather sucked till lately) I went thru it when I first got it and tightened everything up, changed oil, little things like that. The only main probloem I've had so far is a heater hose, and a loose bolt holding the water pump line. And a few weeks later it started leaking agin. This time it was the hose clamp. Was stripped. Replaced with a much better hose clamp and leak is gone. Not sure what you mean by pod bolt. If it's a bolt that holds the body panels on on, yea, tap and replace with a new bolt and nut. It takes a ittle geting used to, cornering, guestimating where the rear tires are when cornering, parking, etc. But, I'm liking it so far. It gets me mobile, and that's the main thing. Get a lot of looks and thumbs up. As previously mentioned, there isn'tmuch upgrading engine wise for these 300cc engines , but, they really don't need much. I'm still on break in, but can do 60 easily with more to spare. Don't plan on doing anything mechanical to it (except maybe replace the rollers wtih sliders) as it fits my needs. However, got a few cosmetic things to do: Chrome trim around the fenders, cup holder, tach, voltmeter, radio, replace battery in line fuse with a blade fuse, cig lighter plug for cell fone/gps, and a few little things like that. All in all, I'm enjoying it.

Just thought it was really cool that he was still riding and had a prosthetic leg. Wanted to get a pic but I was at a light on a incline. Can't wait to get my new/better prost leg Then maybe I can get back on two again. Attachments:

Yes, I'm new and don't understand, Why do people buy a 50cc, then spend another $200 +/- for another 4 or 5 mph? Why not just get a 150cc instead?
I understant the initial cost of my$699, but after the upgrade is it cost effective? It may be the 'accountant' in me, but I just don't understand.

I won't go into detail about my accident, I've told the story already. But, if you don't feel comforable/ confident riding, then don't. For yourself, and others.

Somebody's gotta pay for them Sr's to enjoy the sunshine. And, BTW, how much State Sales Tax does one pay in Fla?
Just enjoy the ride
