Ok so I have on order a 100cc bbk for my gy6 50cc. It comes with red 2k spring set for the rear clutch and a new front variator with 6.5 weights. I've been all over Google trying to dig up info and can only seem to find it for the 150cc set ups. I have a the stock set up right now. The rollers are starting to wear i can see small flat spots on 2 of them so going to be replacing them any ways. The question is this will the 6.5's be ok or should I be looking for a different weight? And the 2k springs, use them? Keep stock? Or get 1.5k springs? My main concern is going up hills. I'd like to be able to at least maintain 30ish going up a hill. Not a monster hill mind you a nice gradual incline. My current set up at 50cc drops down to 15mph and stays there. No safe on a bussy 35mph hill. It's my only disappointment on this scoot. My old 49cc 2 stroke maintained the same hill at 35mph. Maybe I'm jumping the gun asking before I get the kit installed but I like as much info going into a project.

Alright. So found no wires leading to the transmission. The lack of speed turns out was a combo of the rear brake being adjusted to tight and half psi in the tire. Ha shows that you can never be under estimate the extent of what some one will fool with for no reason. So now she seems to be doing 30 on slight incline and I'll say 40 on the down side. Could probably push her more on the down hill but that's kinda beyond my interest lol. So now I gotta figure out the sudden issue with the turn signals. Probably a loose connection some where. They use the absolute best connectors in China (eye roll). And at the end of the month I'm going to be ordering a 100cc kit. Wish me luck

@lian. I'll will investigate that. Was wondering about limiters geh3333. These where round roller weights and they all looked the same. But I know what your talking about happened twice on my old scoot. Ha-ha "stuff" happens

Thank you all for your replys. I hadn't even thought to check the transmission good call. Pulled it open and saw what looks to be a brand new belt. Spun it by hand a few times and heard clinking. So pulled open the front variator to find the sliders not sitting right. It appeared the last owner thought they should be standing up instead of rolling on their sides. Any ways she's going now if not as fast as I'd like. Seems to be leveling out at 25 mph. That normal? My old minarelli 2t got up to 30 no prob 35 a few seconds later and on flat long stretch got her up to 40. No mods.got this scoot to be a commuter but cant do that if it only tops at 25. Spent 2 hours adjusting the air flow mix never saw much of a difference till it was nearly screwed all the way in and not a big one at that

Ok I just bought a 2008 "sunny 50" scooter. Further research showed its a gy6 139qmb. Bought it knowing it wasn't quite working right sure but it sounded to me like it just had bad gas and a dirty carb. So I drained the 3 year old gas. Hosed the carb down and it starts just fine. All sounds good and twist the throttle it sounds great....while its on the center stand that is. Once the back tire hits the ground it won't go. Idles fine but give it gas and it just barely gives a small tug. That's it, didn't matter where I place the air mix screw at that's all I get. Going to pull the carb off and tear it down and clean it real good. What I'd like to know is this. My first time with a gy6 carb, any thing I should keep an eye for? And any ideas of what else it could be in this situation? Coil maybe?
