pull the belt cover and check it out.... see if the bendix is engaging the gear (it's a 50 so the starter is on the belt side, behind the variator)

It takes me a bit longer to get to work on my scoot, about twice as long, actually, but I love it. It really puts me in a better mood. The gas savings is huge and I'm only getting about 45mpg (300lbs rider on a 150cc shortcase running close to full throttle all the way) It's about 15 miles each way. I don't take it every day but I have put 5k on it since november.

howdy bk, i don't know your particular scoot but for turning OFF the turnsignal on all the scoots i've had , one simply pushes IN on the switch rather than trying to slide it to the middle. push directly toward the bar and it should cancel. you may have to piddle with it a little till you get familiar with the action on your particular scoot. lotsa miles and smiles to ya ken Not all do that. Most do, but I have a 250 in the garage that you can't cancel the turn signals by pushing in on the slide. It's like the most annoying thing ever!

Have a great trip....
And the biggest bang for the buck for performance is tuning the variator.

Yea, hot water runs through those lines from the radiator. You can take the hoses off and Plug them up at their ORIGIN. They are useless. As a matter of fact if yours has two screws holding that part on the carb you can take that off as well. Alleyoop I'll remember that. Like I said, I've always used that as a place to burp the cooling system. But if I could get rid of it.... less opportunity for leaks and the chinese 250 are a mess of plumbing to begin with. Alleyoop, what do you use to get to the pesky Idle mix screw on these? I end up setting it on the bench, and running with that, rather then setting it with a running bike cause I just can't seem to get to that dang thing. I've thought about buying a cheap screwdriver and bending it into something that would work, but so far, I've had pretty good success getting it close enough to run right.

was your titan a 150 or 250? I have the same bike as a 250, and I'm trying to find a comparison with a reflex.... speed etc.
What I'm looking for is a bike that is able to run in the foothills on the freeway, I'm deciding if I want to put the reflix on that list. The Chinese 250 is not up to the task, it's just not enough bike to do the hills like I want.
I have two buddies running around on 500cc scoots (and april and a piggie) and I'm trying to figure out if I want a 500cc scoot, a full on touring bike or if the Reflix could handle what I want to do with it.

you have to open up the CVT case... You probably should anyway, alot of those stock belts are total junk. Get a gates powerlink. since it's a short case it's a 743-30-20. It's really easy. do yourself a favor and get an electric impact wrench and a set of impact sockets from harbor freight. You won't be sorry.
Here's a video on changing one...

Guys,
I was wondering how long a good quality belt (gates power link) should last on a 150cc short case with 10" wheels and a 115mm Hoca varator with 12gram rollers? I currently have about 4k on my belt, and I'm thinking it's time to put a new one in it. I can't believe I've put over 5500 miles on this bike since November.

It's cool the cop let you off with a warning... Here we plate 50cc's even but you can run 'em as hard as you like... as long as you follow the speed limits (or not, I keep up with speeding traffic on my 150cc. My little 150 does cruise at 50mph (gps) and all out at 58 (speedo says like 70 or something totally outrageous).. As long as you ride with traffic and don't act like an idiot, they leave us alone. and of course splitting lanes in california is legal although I haven't had the rocks to do in front of a cop.

That idle mix screw is a real bugger to get at too. The "unused" nipples are for the cooling system. I actually disconnect the top one when I'm burbing the cooling system on these bikes.

I said 150 'cause it was my first scooter, and it's my favorite.... Very agile little sucker, and the racing variator made come alive!
