Whoa.... STOP....
The 5 pin r/r that came with your stator is the one you want use. The pink is the same as the white, not an accessory wire.
I have not pulled the flywheel on one of these to see what kind of stator it is, it may be a floating ground( two phase), full wave stator. Or, it may be single phase, half wave... Most of the 4 PIN R/R's are only half wave.... There are some 4 pin R/R's that are full wave, the R/R will have fins on the top and side....
The pin out on your new R/R is as follows.
Yellow A/C stator input (Line 1) Pink A/C stator input (Line 2) Green - Ground (Ground to frame, not battery) Red - 12 volt + DC out to battery (battery charge circuit) Black - (12 volt sense) (You hook the black wire to your ignition accessory circuit - This is not a charge wire or a power source: The function of this detects the charge and adjust the accoudingly)

I wish I were your neighbor. LOL.... Yeah, my neighbors like being my neighbors... I had so many people begging to borrow a scooter last year I thought about opening a scooter rental for this summer... Went as far purchasing some (4 in total), but after researching what all I would need to make uncle Sam happy, I decided against the idea... There just wasn't enough room to make profit... The real kick in the crotch was that I have a buddy with an established boat rental that was going to let me rent out of his location and even have his secretary take my calls for only $100 a month.. Still wasn't enough room for profit. Uncle Sam has deep pockets, much deeper than mine.

Bintelli or BMS hands down IMO if you're looking for a "Quality Chinese" scooter.
Both brands have significant improvements over TaoTao's and have the quality where it counts. They have ZNEN engines, NGK plugs, gates belts, 12 pole stators, etc etc... These are things that count and keep your scooter running and you not wrenching. The outer plastic is irrelevant. Take her to a scooter shop that sells one or both of these brands. Then have her sit on them. Whatever fits her size best is the one to chose.
On a side note, I own a BMS Heritage... It's an incredibly easy to ride scooter. And it's Beautiful. But it did have issues cutting out at wide open throttle. The engine never "died", but it would stall, sputter, then recover...... I discovered it was fault in these style of scooters. Because the tank is the bottom floorboard, these little GY6 engine don't produce much vacuum at WOT and these little vacuum pumps can lose their suction.

got to thinking, my carb may have been new just not cleaned well when put into the box, relized when I pulled the chinoplug to put a NGK plug in it had been ran, unless they put a brand new looking plug in that had been run in something else, plug looked like it had a little run time on electrode. You know, I too thought these carburetors looked re-manufactured, or even used.... The seller list the items as "Brand new" though.... I need to inspect the carbs TMS shipped, and i'm going to pull the plugs and see what they look like... If they look ran, and not just "test fired", I will pull the cylinder head and inspect the pistons. I hate having to this because there's always a risk of damaging a seal/gasket, especially if they're not brand new.

Very few do a valve adjustment during PDI, assuming the factory set then right. I do set my valves during PDI, example, my 150, ccame with exhaust set at zero tight. Is the enricher working? Do you have to turn the throttle at all when starting it cold? Is the plug boot new? I pulled the valve cover and as everyone guessed, the valves needed adjusting... They were closed so tight I couldn't get any of my feelers into the gap... "zero tight" as you put it... I wound up adjusting the intake to .003 and .005 on the exhaust. She starts right up now. it was 39° and she fired as if I had just been riding.. I made a video of the process.

GHcoe... I took a mirror and watched the spark plug area and saw oil begin to flow from what looks like a hole in the cast down to the spark plug and start dripping off the exhaust studs. That sounds like your EGR port... Did your sons emissions come un-bolted? The picture I'm providing is of a Cylinder Head and it's EGR port. That port (if your scoot has it) needs to either be blocked off or attached to an EGR valve. If not, you're blowing oil over the place.

Thanks, I fixed the link. The one I linked to in the first link is the correct gasket... The angle you're talking about is just an illusion. I would not have provided a link for someone to buy something, if I was taking a guess...Luckily, he only paid 1.99 and it isn't going to break the bank.
The gasket you linked to is for a 4 bolt and it's a very different gasket.

I am optimistic now that I'll be able to get this scoot running for under $300, even if I have to buy a new top end kit. Now that's something I do have for ya if ya need. The guy I purchased my CL scoot from ran it without the engine shroud and over heated it, killing the top end. So, he bought a complete new top end and realized it would be too hard to put together. I have everything from the cylinder up, brand new with new gaskets, rings, clips etc etc.... Stock size. It's a Taiwan Kit and it's a non emissions cylinder head! If ya need it, let me know, I'll give the best price around.....

one other issue in having is on deceleration it feels like it's slowing down a little too fast theb when it hits a certain rpm starts to coast nicely, but at first it feels like it's decelerating hard what could be the cause? That sounds like your clutch spring.

Well, I finsihed my Job ahead of schedule, so hopefully I'll be able to get out in the shop tonight and get the feeler gauge on valves and see where they're at... I'm not sure... I'm pretty tired... Just worked for 16hrs straight...... But I'm really anxious to get out in the shop and see if the valves are in fact the problem... IF not tonight, tomorrow for sure.... I have all day free to play tomorrow... Actually, I'm free till next Monday unless someone calls with an emergency (which always seems to happen when I get free time).... ----------------------------------- Here's another question for all of you..... I'm getting ready to pull this motor and put a scrappy 161QMK on this scoot.... Would you even bother? I only want to in case I sell it someone... Want to make sure they get a good running motor. Or in case I use it..... Actually.... I'm rambling... LOL.... I'm soo tired, I'm getting slap happy... Perhaps going anywhere near tools right is a bad idea.

Buy this one with the straight side . I bet it will fit even with the 2 small cruved parts on yours . it will slightly stretch if it has to , and after its on , seal just fine. m.ebay.com/itm/180982882106?nav=SEARCHThanks! I ordered that one and will try it out. I advise you NOT to use the one you purchased. It is way skinnier than yours and will not seal correctly. I have all of these gaskets in my shop and if you attempt to use the one you ordered, I suspect you will have oil leaks. They are way different gaskets. There is only one, 2 bolt valve cover gasket for this type of motor head. I searched on scrappydogs site and they have just gasket for sale. LINK Click that link and scroll down the page. $7.48 You can use the gasket makers as other have suggested but if you don't get it right, you'll have leaks. In addition, it can be messy and removal a pain. The proper gasket is only a few bucks, I suggest get the right item and doing it right the first time... You may save yourself some headache down the road. Good luck either way!

Yeah, I was hoping it was blue with the built in lights. Come to think of it, there are two sets of three dangling wires inside that cowling... now I know what they went to (the lighted mirrors). I havent been able to find the lighted mirrors anywhere. Good news though... I re-fused the wire that runs to the ignition and it all works. I don't know why someone disconnected all of it. time to replumb the fuel/vacuum lines and give it some gas and see what happens... That's awesome news! Some new fuel, crossed fingers and you'll be golden! Make sure you put a flashlight in that gas tank and look for rust... The one I picked up from CL had a rusted out tank (only on the inside).... I'm very familiar with this style of scooter and can help you find any brand new parts you need. Here's the blue mirrors (brand new $38.00 for a pair): LINK
This style of scooter has many names.... The Jonway 150cc Moped (150T-12)The BMS Bemine 150ccThe Sunny DongFangThe list goes on and on......

I was kind of thinking the valves too, however, I've never owned a machine that needed the valves adjusted that quickly... But, It's always had this issue and I traded for it used at around 200 miles. I suppose it's possible the valves were incorrectly set from the factory or never set during initial PDI. I will check the valves on Friday when I get out there.
In the meanwhile, I'm curious as to if others think it's valves.....

I got a scooter on the lift right now that has an issue with cold starting.....
I have to crank it for about 60~120 seconds (in 5 second burst) to get it started when it's cold or been sitting for over a day or so....
Once the engine is started, it runs like a champ through the entire power band and re-starts without issue. Once warm, it runs as if it's new. The scooter only has 444 miles on it but it is a 2012, assembled in spring 2013.
I've removed all emission stuff, installed NGK plug with proper gap, manual petcock and all air and fuel lines replaced with quality Tygon.
