Thank you scooter! That's exactly what I was talking about and looking for I am definitely gonna pick one of those bottles up that even looks like I can split my fuel line and add some stop valves so I can just switch to the bottle when my tank runs low. Thank you! That's super! I am glad you found a solution that works for you! Be sure to show us how it comes out!

I've searched inside and out of the airbox and can not find anywhere the it will attach to. My thought was the airbox but it doesn't seem so or can I see where it would go I bought a dongfang from powerrideoutlet.com... it's advertised as 200cc but in actuality it's 170cc... its a zippy little critter...love it so far. Apparently, out of six quadrillion images available, there is not one image on google of the inside of a stock gy6 airbox. I would show you mine but it is siliconed together because the previous owner was obviously a gorilla who enjoyed tightening screws and bolts down with all of his might. leaving them stripped out and useless. If your bike is like mine and you have one of these, and inside of it, over to the left, you will likely find one of these, and over to the right you have one of these. In the box there will be a ledge or groove that mates with the groove on your part. Air flows into the box, from right side to left side through your part, and then over to the air filter. That's how it works on my bike anyway. What it does, I don't know. I assume it's there to aerodynamically help stop large or heavy objects or water from getting to the air filter or to control flow. Good luck.

I recently got a new 170cc chinese scooter and in the middle of taking things apart, checking and putting back together, I noticed this laying on the garage floor and have no clue where it goes or if it even goes on the scooter... any help would be appreciated. That goes inside of your air intake box.

A skinny convertible with no doors. Pretty hot. I never get tired of looking at odd or new designs. This one is interesting because it would have to be balance stabilized or inertia stabilized to stand upright and could theoretically move in any direction. I am guessing this one is balanced stabilized like a Segway.

Yeh def won't work with yours . I have bigger fuel line then normal , as long as my float shutoff dosent fail I'll be ok . Thanks for the info. If you get a chance, please post the height of your fuel tank, and the distance from the tank outlet down to the carb vertically. I can use that to get psi from full tank to empty and we'll all know more about required fuel pressure for WOT runs.

Guy emailed me back and said he couldn't help me. This is getting frustrating. I purposely bought a GY6 motor so I could upgrade it. I've contacted several places (all site sponsors) and so far, no one can help me. Which engine do you have?

Thanks for asking. I'm gonna start tearing down the scooter before changing the hoses. Maybe I'll discover an obvious problem. That reminds me, I did see one short hose coming out of the carb that's attached to nothing. Is that normal. I'll get a photo. There is a drain hose, that run from the bottom of the carb, to drain the bowl. It will not be attached to anything. t84a is suggesting you may have a bad gas cap. Make sure air can flow through your gas cap vent holes.

I love the idea of runnin a straight line from the tank to the carb with a manual shutoff valve on the line . No need for the vacuum valve , it's just one more thing to go wrong . I've had mine like this for about three yrs now . Fuel filter also That is interesting. For water, 3ft of head = 1.3 psi and 2'=0.87psi and 1'=0.43psi. I wonder how many psi you need to feed these carbs at WOT? I have a tank below the carb, so that option is out for my scooter type, but the one I sold was bogging at WOT with just a manual petcock and no pump running. It had a big open filter so I am fairly sure it had easy flow from the petcock to the carb. I'd guess the bottom of the tank was maybe up to a foot above the carb? Not sure though.

Update: Got my new 80 series tire in, to replace my old 70 series, and put it on myself, including a new valve stem. It's not much harder to put on than a bicycle tire and the bead popped on nicely without a fuss. One warning for people wanting to put on larger tires: You may have plenty of room around your current tire, installed, but remember you have to slide the tire onto the hub from the side. I barely got mine on, as the oil dipstick tube was in the way. I almost had to flatten the tire to clear it. Fortunately I got away with giving it a bump and knocking it on. The result? I like it. My off the line takeoff is slightly weaker but once it kicks in, the acceleration seems as good as it was before, and my top end is about the same as yesterday with the old tire. I'm still in my excellent torque and horse power range. I like the way it feels, a little stiffer somehow, and hopefully I have avoided any problems. Thanks everyone for your advice and help.
