My Echarm got to were it idled so high they would would spin . Having EFI I do not have an idle screw . I rerouted the cable since it was binding and it was good again . With EFI the ECU controls idle .
Ground the lead from the float to the frame . If the needle bounces it is the gauge , if it goes to full it may be the send ing unit or at least a short in the circuit . My @t the gauge is dead on it but my Echarm says it is empty at half a tank

According to Mo at Scrappys a stock 2T crank should handle up to 10,500 RPMs . When my 2T was a 50 with stock pipe it maxed at 8k . I put on a MODCycles 47mm BBK , PM Racing pipe and Uni now it hits 10,500 but I try to not go above 9k . I have ridden for miles around 9k with no issue . I do wind it out for a few seconds at top RPM then back off .
A street kit and pipe you should be fine . Now the single ring racing kits can scream up to 14k and racing cranks some are rated up to 18k yes 18k RPMs . It would require case splitting . If you want I can look up the how to link on it .
I had waaaaay more power and speed with my BBK on my 2T compared to going from a secret 63 to a 50mm or 82cc BBK on my 4T . The PM Racing pipe is unrestricted , much too loud and I had a takeoff loss since it did not build up back pressure , but mid range I could pop a wheelie at 50 MPH and top end went beyond the speedo .

How many miles did you get out of the stock clutch ? My Echarm has 19,500 miles and I only blew out some dust and greased the shaft once when I replaced the belt and it still works good .
If if it cold and the choke is working it may idle higher and have some wheel spin . It should stop after it warms up some .
You can replace the clutch springs with 1k , 1.5k or 2k that open at their rating at that much more RPM than stock . I have 1.5k on my 2T which helps on initial takeoff big time .
I was looking at Dr Pulley clutch since I read great reviews , DRP is a good brand , and it comes with spring sets and weights so you can fine tune it . I have read a couple of posts that people had failure but it may be from an installation error .
NCY is a decent brand and should be better than stock . I plan on going with a Stage 6 since I can change out the springs with out having to remove the bell

I will dig up the link but I saw where NC and SC are talking about making moped riders wear a reflect vest due to all of the moped vs car wrecks

Make sure to oil it instead of putting it on dry . I will get a jet kit so you could tune the carb

Mine came with a 40IJ and I have the screw turned 1/4 out . I put on a BBK and it would not want to idle for a long time without giving it some throttle . I put in a 45 IJ and now it purrs . When it was a 50 it started and idled fine . Note I have a TK carb so others may vary

Do a compression test as it may need new rings

If one upgrades to a BBK it is not hard to upjet at all . Glad to hear you got it running again .

I would think so . I bought a Mikuni oil pump to replace the stock one but I needed to replace the cable since mine only had 1 lead but to use the Mikuni it required a lead as well . The cable is part # 159-26 from PFS .
What size carb do you have ? I hope its not for a 50 but instead for a BBK . The 70cc power kits come with a 21mm carb . My 2T came with a 19mm TK carb that works great when it was a 50 and with a 70cc BBK . I would get a jet kit as 2Ts are more finicky to tune and you always want to run a lil rich . If you change out the pipe and /or airfilter you will need to upjet

Ethanol can slowly dissolve cheap rubber fuel lines and they tiny particles will clog up the jets . I am a SeaFoam fan as it works great to clean and preventive maintenance too . If you can get gas without ethanol that would help out a lot . Here is a directory pure-gas.org/

If it sat for that long I would clean out the jets in the carb . How does the tread on the tires look ? Check for loose nuts and bolts . The tires do not come balanced so there will be some shimmy , more so on worn tires . Rollers can develop flat spots from wear and make a rattle sound like a bearing . Some belts wear out faster than others . I had a TaoTao with a Gates belt it lasted around 4k and it broke while my Echarm I changed it 12k and it still had some meat on it .
If one is too easy on takeoff the clutch pads can " almost " fully engage and and get glazed .
