130,000 miles, that's it?! I have 202K on my Cherokee and it runs perfectly. My friend had 280K on his Impreza.

Thomas Edison thought Tesla's ability to see a new invention fully formed and functioning in his head "unnatural" and scary. I recall da Vinci had the same ability...that's why so many of his ideas were never built. He didn't NEED to build them, because he could SEE them in his mind!

I ride a bright-yellow scoot, I wear a hi-vis chartreuse helmet and a black/chartreuse jacket. Visibility is a GOOD thing. And even so, some jackass damn near hit me today! I wear this helmet and this jacket.

If that's not a Photoshop, the dude should be arrested! There is no chance he is NOT overloading that scooter!

I have never seen one repurposed as anything but a place for graffiti and stickers!

67mph is just dandy! with sprocket change even better. unless theres a taller 250cc other than a dual sport What about a Yamaha V-Star? I vaguely recall the 250 & 650 use the same frame.

scootn, not quite. Between Mom (my ride home) undermining things and weather being wet, I haven't gotten my scoot to the shop for all it needs done for spring tune-up. SIGH!!! But Mom's come around now--she was so cute, when I said I really do need to get my scooter in, she asked if I couldn't just wait for a while, like 'til after she's dead. If only the weather will come around, too, then I'll finally be back on the roads. Hopefully tom? Jarlaxle, could you rig something for a lock to go through? Not as good as a key, but enough to discourage folks just wanting to mess around. And that's the saddest of all, someone would cut the strap just to mess with you. Bad enough when they steal to use themselves, or sell. But just to steal for stealing sake? Worst of all. Unspeakable awfulness. Should have their hands cut off. >'Kat My top case DOES have a lock (built into the latch), but it is broken. I need to replace it.

You know, I have to ask. Why doesn't anyone use the helmet hook under the seat? Doesn't that lock? I can't 'cause my Nolan has the quick-clip, not the D-rings. But seems to me that's what those hooks are for. As for a topcase, I found a matching one for something like $50 on CL. So I got a box, same dimensions, and put it on back. Did not like the look of it hanging off the back like that. Nor how it covered the lights, even though it would wire in. Just don't care for it. But otherwise, a topcase would be an ideal place to lock up your helmet, I'd think. spandi, thanks. And despite that KS doesn't have a helmet law, still how would I drive home without a helmet? >'Kat I tried...I cannot get my helmet onto the helmet lock no matter how I try! Unfortunately, my top case does not lock.

According to my neighbor, it "squeaks" (her word) taking off. (Couldn't tell you, I wear a full-face lid & am half deaf.) Well...looks like I'm taking the CVT cover off this weekend. So, uhh...anyone have any idea how the heck I go about that on a Q-Link? Also, what grit should I use on the clutch pads?

Well, if you read up on the article of a vespa rider doing cross continent, riding on a 90cc scooter, you'd believe everything is possible. Sure it's possible, but you're just increasing the risk unnecessarily by lowering cc's. Explain, in detail, how riding a V-star 250 (again: fully highway capable, plenty left at 70 and still pulling at 80+) instead of a Vulcan 900 increases risk in any way. Be specific.

What, you looking for some sympathy or want people to feel sorry for you ? Your own words state you have a few DUI's. I guess the good people of Atlanta Ga. won't properly punish you until you kill a kid. Its time to grow up and act like an adult. If you need help ask for it. Blunt. I do think almost anyone can pick up the first DUI. Multiple arrests are a pattern and jail is in order. First DUI should be 10-20 years, lifetime licence revocation. Ever caught driving again, should be LWOP. Second DUI should be a firing squad.
