I haven't found much looking for just the weights for sale, at this point. The one set I found cost more than the whole assembly. Never mind...think I found weights.

I have seen complete clutch assemblies for ~$35-50 (like this one) on eBay...would that be easier than replacing the variators?

So...should I use stock-replacement weights? Bigger? Smaller?

It doesn't sound like exhaust...it sounds like it is coming from the drivetrain. Note: it ONLY does it with the throttle totally closed. It's not idling low...if anything, I would like it to idle a bit lowER.
Variator weights aren't that big a job...right? While it's apart...should I replace the belt (or anything else) with 11K miles?

Does that mean I need new variator weights? How many 4-letter words will THAT entail? It happened all at once...one minute, it was fine, the next, it was like a car with no high gear.
Also, I have noticed an occasional popping sound from the CVT/rear wheel area while coasting down, if that helps.

...I think? Scoot is in my sig...I did about 45 miles today, mostly in hilly 2-lanes at 40-50MPH. After stopping for a while, it started acting weird...it feels like the CVT is not working properly, with much higher RPM's for a given road speed than before. (The engine feels like it's spinning as fast at 40 as it used to at 60+.) It also runs hotter than usual around town, though it does not overheat. Err...help!

Could it be an unbalanced tire?

I am very happy with my Q-Link Commuter 250, a Honda Helix clone. (IIRC, it was also sold as the CF Moto Fashion 250.) IIRC, they were built until 2011. (Mine is a 2007, a bit over 10,500 miles.)

Again: you WANT it to do it in the driveway, not the expressway!

Tip from my uncle regarding brakes: every time you ride, grab the brake lever (while stopped) and YANK it as hard as you can! If something lets go...well, better that than the same thing letting go on rush hour traffic! He credits that with finding a bad brake line on his Yamaha just BEFORE he was about to leave on a 2-hour ride through mountains!
(He called & told his brother he'd be along shortly, replaced the line, bled the brakes, and was only 20 minutes late.)

After looking at the last posting why do I suddenly have the urge to redecorate? My wife saw that helmet & jacket and asked it I would help her bleach her brain.
