I wouldn't mind shifting - but thats the point of modern scooters anyhow.... But for this, I'd gladly shift.

Of course if one is replacing the stator to make a repair, one may think about performing an upgrade at once.

Well it is a bit adult, isn't it?
There is a 'kitty' and it is wet.

Sweet. Wish I could find a Honda or CF-moto or Sym or BMS - any of the higher HP versions of the Xingyue.

Oh yea, true. I don't think I would do such a small gap 10 and 11. 10 and 14, 9 and 17...
but they have the two ramps, I am trying to think of motor rotation. the leading ramp gets the light roller and the training ramp has the heavier roller.
The Znen had 17's, now has 9.8's (10?), but I really didn't feel any ride difference.

Just found this pic on ebay under this listing www.ebay.com/itm/181133336735Even if the ramps arent marked like that, -oem style - maybe that still works on the oem and similar non-high performance variators.

Rode to work with the 9.8's, Nice traffic, very short stops, but not as grabby. Otherwise the rode seems exactly the same. speedo tops out at 60mph, I forgot to turn on my GPS, so I dont know what my top speed was. Yesterday it was just under 50mph by GPS, and 60 on the speedo. 8400RPM on the tach/hour meter. This is the tach I am using - I think it is more ideal for generators and mowers - stuff that runs a constant speed all the time. www.amazon.com/Tachometer-Kawasaki-Motorcycle-Generator-Snowmobile/dp/B0049IFX56/ref=pd_sim_sbs_indust_2/183-3947756-9889960For sure time to swap out carbs and get a better exhaust.

The Znen has 12" wheels - just like this: valleyscootersdealers.com/MOTORINORIVIERA.htmlRiding it while still working on the Xingyue. The tach I am using is an implement type tach + hour meter, and doesn't react quickly. Not sure it is set correctly either. If it is correct, I was at 8500rpm at 45mph. Idle looks like 1500 to 2200. I put the 9.8 sliders in and took it for a short ride. Lots of variables and plenty of projects happening in my driveway.
