My original one was cracked - probably overtightened by the PO. I just ordered up an brand new one with a screen. I have a clean screen ready at each oil change.

[replyingto=devo344a]devo344a[/replyingto]Started with superglue - didn't work. Took the column apart but didn't manage to get the lock itself out of the casting. Tried fishhooks, safety pins, some stiff wire... I believe the trick to getting the tumblers out is to drill small holes beside each tiny roll-pin in order to get a grip and pull the pins out, or possibly using a tap, threading the roll-pin and then turning in a screw to either pull the pin, or turn it in until it jacks the pin out.
For the ear, drilling and pinning for J-B, or for alumi-brazing anchoring is a good idea, and has passed through my thoughts also. The broken exhaust - the end near the head is only 0.68 inches inside diameter. That's about 2/3rds the optimum size for a 150cc of 1 inch I.D. And that OEM muffler has a tailpipe less than the diameter of a DIME. Super restrictions.
I did get to connect the new XP laptop to the Ecotron ECU last night, but then didn't manage to get the bike to fire up and run. I was able to record cranking stats.

Well, I thought I attached the pic. Maybe it will take a minute to upload?

Multiple funs I started my new exhaust and EFI project on my Xingyue 6" wheel scooter, back in late April. Exhaust went on fine. Started te EFI conversion and noticed the stator wasn't putting out. Of course this meant an 11-pole upgrade, and some rewiring. But then we had day after day of rain rain rain. Too cold and rainy to be working outside.
Then the Geo Tracker blew the timing belt, not a terrible job, but waiting for a new timing cover slowed that project, which had to be done so the GF had wheels. I think I finished that on May 26, then spent an evening trying to get a broken key out of the ignition - no luck but the second half of the key is working to use the car.
Running the ecotron software in XP mode on my Windows 7 laptop would not communicate with the ECU, tried all sorts of stuff, three days of software updates.... NO GO! Ordered another hdd so I could build a new XP hard-drive for that laptop. Does it work? No idea, I didn't have the A2L or CAL files for the ProCal to initialize with. Emailed Matt Friday night and he sent the filed late Sunday so haven't got back to that again yet.
So when I get a chance (weather cooperating), I've been riding scooter #2 - the Znen 150. I did mess with the variator once, still need to go and try mixed weights. But then, on June 13, I heard a rattle - the lower exhaust bracket had broke at the weld. I took it easy coming home. Everything seemed to be solid and tight so I went to weld thee bracket and noticed a bolt was missing. The upper bracket - exhaust, swing arm and into the upper rear ear on the engine. Not having the missing bolt, I tried a few, found a thread that seemed to work. Threaded in by hand, unable to pull it out by hand, Great luck! Grab a wrench to snug it up, not even 1/4 turn and something popped - a shard of aluminum fell to the ground... and the bolt spun freely. I guess the hole had a step in it, and my bolt was a perfect wedge to break it out. So I found a smaller bolt that matched the threads on the shard. long enough to thread through the remaining part of the ear, and put a nut on the back. And I did, and then I welded the bracket. I shook it all, nothing moved. Fired it up and had a quick test run, everything seemed alright.
Rode to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
Started out to ride to work today. Kept hearing this little hiss, like a high voltage arc every time I hit a bump. Even thought maybe there was a bit or tape or trash that kept swinging into the wind or something.
Nope.
Then the entire exhaust fell off, from just below the flange at the head, right through, to the end. Re-broke my weld, the missing bolt is missing again. I had to wait for the muffler to cool a bit, and a couple spare carabiner, a slow ride home.
No pics yet.
Now I have neither scooter on the road.
I've got to order a new exhaust - a nice performance SS unit for sure. Probably a variator kit and some different sliders or rollers. I have a new open element air filter to compliment the soon to be new exhaust, but I know I'll have to mess in the carb to get the jets right. I will try a J-B Weld patch for that broken ear. If I have to do much more, like change the case half, I may as well stick in a BBK.
Bad weather, projects and breakdowns have made this a poor riding season so far.

a 150 2T shifter would be sweet. No doubt that would be my choice.

open the fuel cap when it cuts out and see if it will fire up, then you will know if it is a simple vapor lock. Plugged or miss-routed line. Broken vacuum petcock.... Beyond that, I've no Lambretta knowledge.

When Lake Geneva held Amerivespa last June, and we had group rides - say 100+ scooters, you know not everyone filled up at the same time, and can you imagine if all scooters pulled up to fill up at once, We would swamp a filling station. I've never run out, and I've had the gauge near the empty peg. My fuel economy isnt consistent - a group ride is much less WOT, than just ridding to and from work. I think the gauge is reasonably accurate, and the odometer is pretty close, but the speedometer is horribly in-accurate. I carried spare gas, in case anyone needed it, not just myself. Normally on my to/from work I do not have spare fuel. I had it only on longer and group rides.

My issue is usually the brake light switch - or both go bad. Easy to check. turn on the ignition, squeeze each brake lever. Got brake lights, then look at the starter button. No brake lights with either or both brakes, then check the connections and the switches for the brake lights.

I got a red 750ml SS water bottle last year. The cap seemed to be OK after several days in contact with gasoline, so I carried it in the saddle bag. I never used it. But as I started to get stuff organized for this season, I figured I'd better use and replace the old fuel. The cap did not want to budge. A weee bit of leverage and I got the cap off, with effort the entire length of the threads. The plastic has swelled. Now the cap wont go back in.
The Primus bottle looks good, especially with the holster. Though pricey. $45 for both.
I see the MadAss scooters with tiny tanks - they seem to always carry fuel in what appear to be red water bottles with a keyring carabiner with a FUEL label on the side.

150cc RPMs?

On the Znen: I added a small engine hour meter so I would have some dort of tach. 60 on my speedometer is about 53 tops via GPS. I get up to 8500 on a downhill. May loose 1300RPM climbing the next hill, which means my speed is way down, like below 40
On the Xingyue, I managed 66MPH down a huge hill with a tailwind, and I was just over 10k RPM. Usually running mid 7k at a little over 50mph.
