[replyingto=hank]hank[/replyingto] Well, that's not good! I guess I'll pay for priority shipping... I certainly hope two days of one mile trips to the store and back won't hurt it too bad...

[replyingto=ryaanlx]ryaanlx[/replyingto]The idle jet should be good up to 150cc, if you would like you can purchase a longer #35 jet, but otherwise it is not necessary to up the idle jet unless you up the displacement of your scooter.

[replyingto=jerseyboy]jerseyboy[/replyingto]Wish I had known that before spending the money on the recharge kit... Oh well, better to have the stuff designated for the job anyway So how much damage to my engine do I risk by running it for daily tasks (a few miles a day) until I get my new jets?

[replyingto=lykos23]lykos23[/replyingto] Okay, I know it's lean, but how lean? Should I upjet to 92 or ? Kinda funny I went from rich to lean with a simple performance filter upgrade. Heh.

My mother got me the K&N Recharge Kit for $13 at Autozone. I never knew replacing a filter was so pricey. :/
It cost like $15 for the filter and $13 for the recharge kit... ugh.
Anyways, the filter is all oiled up and I'm about to do a plug chop.

So I found out that the engine number is the AF05E and that parts are readily available for the engine which is great news for me. I'm gonna try to start restoring it.
First thing... I've got a kind of rattling sound coming from the gearbox and there's no takeoff power at all and now it will barely go 10mph. I believe the previous owner ran the gear oil dry, what should I be replacing?

With a performance filter try 78 through jets. 7g sliders or 6g rollers are a good starting point for weights, but your best option is to get a weight tuning kit from here: www.scooterworks.com/prima-roller-weight-tuning-kit--16x13--3g-to-14g--products-1935.php#.Ubo4wU1jg3E Sliders > Rollers imho. (The tuning kit rollers are not designed for every day use, they are temporary weights designed for fine tuning your specific weight needs which varies from scooter to scooter and person to person) It's 38mm for the filter if you don't already know. Don't forget the filter oil like I just did.

Thanks, Hank. Since I can't drive without the oil I asked my mother to pick some up since she is taking a ride with a friend luckily. I'll see what she produces and if I can use it or not.

[replyingto=hank]hank[/replyingto]Thanks, Hank! That video is pretty helpful.
Will it damage my engine to run to the store with the filter un-oiled in order to get the filter oil? Or is there a substitute for the oil I can use? All I have is 4t 10w40 motorcycle oil, 2 stroke oil, and 10w30 oil.

In 1.1k miles my gates power link leaves very little dust residue. I'm not sure why yours would be producing so much...
