I went to Ace Hardware and found some nylon washers there... I hope they work D8

[replyingto=salracer]sailracer[/replyingto]Nope, wasn't hydraulic. Just a standard 2ton gear puller. I rented it and now I might not get my money back because I broke it...
Well, good news. With two 2x6 boards and a hammer I got the gear off. Now I just have to get it back on...

And the gear puller snapped too... Now I owe autozone $107. At this point I'm ready to strangle a kitten. All I wanted was for the post office to give me my package just a few hours earlier, that's why I put my mail on hold, just so I could get to the machine shop before they close. Well, now I can't. They're closed.

So I put the gear in the bench vice and hoped for the best. I wedged it between two bricks so I could push the gear out and I turned it. I turned it slowly little by little until it was really hard to turn. Then I turned it just a little bit more and I heard it go "pop!" and I said "yes!" as I thought the gear came off. I turned it just a little bit more and then the entire bench vice fell apart.
I snapped my grandpa's heavy duty bench vice that was bolted to a big block of wood in half...
Now I'm off to autozone to try that "Gear puller" thing.

[replyingto=salracer]sailracer[/replyingto]The gears came in the mail! I'm trying not to rush anything, but I am excited to get these gears in. Drained my gear oil, now I'm waiting for the bike to cool down. Took the clutch bell off, but the clutch itself is too hot to touch.
Let's hope I can figure this out!

Are you sure they do need to be pressed on ? some don't.If you have a bench vise, you may be able to use that as a press I'll try that. I've got ocd tendencies so I'll be obsessing over these gears all day until I get them in. First I'll try the DIY methods, using my bench vice and autozone gear pullers, and when those fail I'll pay one of my mother's friends to give me a ride to the damn machine shop. The gears are scheduled to come today, so I tried picking up my mail, put it on hold and everything, but they shipped my mail out anyway and now since it's on hold it's technically lost until they deliver it, hopefully in an hour. Been waiting to install these gears since 6a.m. now, can't wait to see the difference!

Alright, I removed the fan.
Once again my quest for a fan that pushes more air begins...

[replyingto=fugaziiv]fugaziiv[/replyingto]I've got an 81cc bbk and I'm hitting speeds of 45mph with my current gearing, gonna be upgearing today hopefully, I don't think I need much more speed, haha. I really appreciate your quick and straightforward answers, I now believe that I will not be going with that fan. Do I call or is there someone to email about my order? The only thing I want removed is the fan. If it has shipped already then I guess I'll just install the fan anyway

[replyingto=fugaziiv]fugaziiv[/replyingto]If there's less drag on the engine, does that generate less heat? As long as the fan isn't designed to heat my engine too much on my short trips I think it should be good, I've just always wanted to test that performance fan. What are the benefits if not better cooling? It seems strange to me to have a performance fan that doesn't cool things better.

[replyingto=jerseyboy]jerseyboy[/replyingto]Eeesh. That's about as healthy as poppy seed tea I've inhaled plenty of solder while doing electrical and computer work, I wouldn't recommend that to anyone. Tip: There is no amount of led that is not harmful to your body and brain. Banana peels... Isn't that a legal high thing? Anyways "Researchers at New York University have found that banana peel contains no intoxicating chemicals, and that smoking it produces only a placebo effect." There are lots of other healthier legal highs anyway. I have a friend named Dan who is into all that legal high stuff and he gets so many different things I could hardly begin to list them. Kratom, roseMary, cloves, nutmeg, Dex, salvia, legal mushrooms, etc. just to name a few. The health risks of some of those legal drugs are way worse than illegal drugs too. Dan has already formed an illness of flashbacks and other psychological issues from his extensive legal drug usage. People die from basically an opium overdose from poppy seed tea...

[replyingto=domindart]domindart[/replyingto]My friend, Nico and I shared a cigar once the day he was going home to Penssylvania. It was a vanilla one and it was delicious. I'm not used to nicotine (I think I'm extra sensitive to it or something) I got a major headrush from it Kinda funny... A nicotine experience with Nico.

[replyingto=ryaanlx]ryaanlx[/replyingto]I just placed my first order with them earlier today. It seems to be going slow, but I just assumed they were closed on weekends.
