And he wins a scooter-wheel-tire-valve-Cap! Congratulations!

That kind of is going to happen in USA too. Right now, I'm happy that scooters and motorcycles are insurance free in FL, but I can see it change in the next 5-10 years.

If your scooter is a 50cc I would not get anything heavier than 15W40 or 10W50. It'd sap too much power from the engine and sometimes result in hard starts.
I personally think 10W30 or 10W40 is better oil than 10W50.
15W40 to 10W50 oil would be only good if you're running in desert heat, or have an old, worn engine.

So I finally managed to get my Roketa MC-05-127 running, adjusted the idle to ~1000RPM. It started up right away when warm, but did needed to take 2 or 3 starts when cold.
I have a choke. When opening the choke completely it starts fine on cold but soon would bog down. I'd have to put the choke in the middle.
When I took it out for a spin, I noticed while riding, when putting the choke fully opened, the engine would bog down. When I'd fully close it, it would skip strokes, and die down too. I had quite the hard time starting it up again, but it did, and I rode it to the next street. I noticed the bike had best performance with the choke halfway. It bogged down on me, in the middle of the street (after doing only 2km), and I had to push it home. I started it several times but nothing. I have spark, and think perhaps something is blocking the fuel flow? Well in any case, I don't know what it is or what to do?
I was also thinking that perhaps I should do a valve adjustment?
I also upped idle but to no effect.
The carburetor is not the standard 50cc carburetor. The throttle cable is connected directly to a needle, that has to be inserted in the carburetor and tightened, much like those from the 2 stroke engine kits for bicycles.
I found the idle adjustment screw, but did not find an A/F screw. Where can I find it?

My BMS was the fuel injected version, so perhaps top speeds are not comparable. But you should sometimes take it to top speed, wot, see how fast it goes. Try different fuels too. My BMS EFI260 was fastest on mid-grade fuel (did about 2-3MPH faster) than premium, and about 5MPH faster than regular.
Once you know the right fuel, and the top speed, just keep at least 5MPH, but preferably 10MPH below it.
Of course, it's always better to baby it. But if you can't afford being slow, those last 10MPH require a lot of your engine. It heats up a lot harder, and sometimes overheats when you're riding WOT for a long time, and then stop. It's always best to ride slow after a long highway trip, to allow the engine to cool off, and hope you don't have to be stuck behind a traffic light at the exit too long..

You can use both, but the engine might be vibrating a bit more with 10W30. Now that we're entering summer, 10W40 would be your best stock oil. If you have 10W30, buy a bottle of 15W40, and mix them in a 66/33 ratio (2/3 10W30, 1/3 15W40), to give you the good of both worlds.

I finally got the engine running, had to idle adjust, and the side stand peg switch was not mounted. After changing the switch, I had spark. I did one test ride today, however after 2 miles it bogged down and died. I started it for several minutes without success. At first I thought the gasoline was finished, but no. Second was the sidestand switch, but no third, the spark, but no (I had spark) fourth, idle adjustment, and try different choke settings, but no.
The bike was bogging while riding. The clutch works like crap. Shifting forward is possible, but not shift backwards; which causes the bike to stall in 4th gear when getting to a stop.
4th gear enters after 25MPH. Way too slow. Def. getting a sprocket change, that is, IF i can find the problem with the engine bogging down, and no longer starting. Maybe a wiring issue...
More problems than fun guys. But the shocks are amazing! Never felt such good suspension in my life, is like floating over the road.
Acceleration in 1st gear is good; loses torque after ~4-5k RPM, so you'll be early shifting. Peppy bike! Quick accell, even in the breakin!
Now the damn thing stopped working and I'm still trying to fix it; don't even know where to begin!

On my BMS260 with top speed of just over 80MPH, I felt comfortably riding 75MPH; probably do 70MPH all day long.

there have been cases where the spark plug would afterglow because of pre-detonation and overheating. Try higher octane gas, or lower the timing. Could also be running way too lean.

Also, when the engine is hotter in the cylinder, the cool air get a higher combusting temperature (while with a cold engine, a lot of the combustion energy gets sucked into the cylinder walls, causing less energy to be converted to motion).
Yes, also the belt gets warmer, meaning it brings less resistance, but it's minor power you'll barely notice.
Piston swelling is not really what happens. If it did, then the engine block would swell too.

Thanks guys! I'm still a kid at heart, and to celebrate it, today I will be scooting to the job, instead of going by car (too much traffic on memorial day)

I have it currently hooked up to a portable battery. I think the ground should work though, because the lights and dash work.

Alleyoop: That's a good idea! Eventhough the battery supposed to be housed in a plastic electrically sealed compartment, it only has leads from there. I'll try to ground also the body.
