Father in Law has a milan 150 scooter. We pulled carb and cleaned. Scooter will starter with the remote start, but it will not start with the push button. The scooter will not start if the on/off switch is off. If you can point me in the troubleshooting i would appreciate it. I can read a schematic and mechanically inclined.

Three places to start looking. check and make sure the brake lights work when you press a brake handle second make sure the start switch is working by putting a meter on it checking for Continuaty and thirdly, if you have a side stand switch that it is functioning properly.

Using the remote start on the scoots you have to follow a procedure to use the KEY ON and Squeezing the brake and pushing the start button. Once you use the remote start you have to kill the motor using the remote start and then DISARM it for the manual starting to work. So start the scooter using the remote then it off using the remote and then disarm it usually hitting the disarm button twice does it. Now try putting the key on and squeezing the brake and pushing the start button. Alleyoop

So i resolder the push button switch. With the starter solenoid wires unplug. the switch works, when i plug the connection back together at the solenoid, the switch is shorted so i unplugged it and check the plug connection off the solenoid and the two wires are shorted together, i suppose this isn't suppose to be the case? Does this mean the starter solenoid is bad?
