I have to say that anything that gets deleted I am quite sure needed to be deleted.
We do not go around deleting useful posts, we leave up more than we should at times. I for one have not deleted a thread or a post for a long time, months at least.
We get accused of deleting content by people in other forums quite regularly, but then they are on other forums because we didn't want them here any longer than they were here, for the most part we wished they would leave long before they were shown the way out.
I just went into the admin area and looked up on the security log all the edits and other actions that had been done for the last two weeks.
JR has done a lot of fiddling with the forum and I think he moved one thread, no edits or deletions of anybody else posts at all.
Alley has edited a lot of his own post but not one other persons, has no deleted any other members post at all.
I'm boring don't think I used admin powers a single time.
One thing I do not tolerate though is people stirring the pot and if it happens I will not mind deleting a post or thread, with no warnings at all.

I think you guys have done a rather admirable job of keeping things "civil" without engaging in needless censorship. This is not such an easy thing to do when the responsibility is yours.

I've been real busy with the spring garden, grandkids softball and baseball and haven't felt well either due to recent mouth surgery. In a nutshell what I'm saying is I haven't been around near as much as I would like and Doug is right, I've been trying to make sure this forum has the best options and service around. Let's not also forget that the new software has had to have a learning curve for the administration here too and if anything (which I don't know of) has been deleted it could have easily been by mistake, if this happens we can recover it if it is of value to the forum and is by accident. When we move a thread we have options of leaving a "this message has been moved to ______ by _____" message or even Pming the OP about the move. I will move a thread only if it's totally out of place such as a new member signing in and on the welcome thread asking how to fix something or other threads like that. I move it because it doesn't belong in that spot and because a thread in the proper section has a better chance of being seen by people who can help. When it comes down to it this thread is out of place itself. Like has been mentioned before if a thread gets out of hand it isn't deleted but rather moved to the admin section where all staff can view the problem and if needed the only thing that gets deleted is the member who was out of place. Took a good spell to weed out all the things that made the last home unbearable and we're not going back there so simply put if you want to put up threads like this that have no informative or helpful communication and complain about things that aren't happening and have no basis then go somewhere where they like this kind of drama. I think someone finished his bottle of wine since he hasn't been back here with any cheese. ***** JR, Doug, alley, you guys are tops in my book. I mean, you let this non-mechanic blonde run wild here without scolding or trying to herd me (meow, meow). That alone can't be easy. Y'all keep up the excellent work. This is a great forum and I for one am proud and happy to be a member. >'Kat
