I tried filling in the scratches with some shoe polish. It kind of worked, but still, the seat will never look quite right. Maybe I'll get some vinyl sheets, preferable textured with little dots, and make a new seat cover. I can sew and have a sewing machine. With the right material, I could make a cover that would look just as the original did. But I don't know. It's probably not worth the trouble. Though it may be a fun project. I'll post back if I decide to do it. You might want to check out eBay... Sometimes you can find NOS or good-condition replacement seats. Also, I've seen pretty decent-looking stretch-over seat-covers made of nylon or other materials to refurbish scooter seats listed. Worst case, indeed you can sew up your own from upholstery-grade vinyl. I got some black textured vinyl from a car repair shop, and did that back in the seventies on a Suzuki 250 six-speed bike I got FREE because the seat vinyl had disintegrated from outdoor storage in the sun. It wasn't exactly "easy" but it was "doable"... LOL! Fun, too... Cheesh, was that little screamer FAST! If I recall, that little 250cc (about 15 cubic inches) had somewhere around 40 hp at 15K rpm. It would run the quarter-mile in 13 seconds at over 100mph! A small, stone age grandfather of today's crotch-rockets.After you get it fixed, better pile something on top of your cover to keep the little fur-balls off the upholstery, 'cause I have had no luck at all getting them to wear little boxing gloves... LOL! Ride safe!Leo in Texas
