Ah, looked at the snow and icicles on the tarp, checked on the feral-cats nesting on the floorboard under the tarp, and went back inside and had a hot cup of coffee... Yup!

Purchased insurance ($105 per year, Progressive), got the two documents necessary to register a motor scooter in GA (notarized affidavit of fact, certification of inspection by a LEO), filled it with its first tank of gas, practiced riding in in less than 20 foot circles out in front of the house (one of the dmv tests will involve pulling a u-turn in 20 foot radius). On Monday, I am going to register/get my tag and then I will be free to ride it legally on the road.

Ok,,well hopefully it gets better with time, you said it did it before the BBK,,well it just might be something in the head like broken valve guide seals too....or did you change the head also? Sorry; missed that. Yeah, changed head as well. Haven't posted vid as I always forget to grab the tab on the way out the door: Phone is too janky and hi-def cam doesn't go for rides. lol Doesn't seem to be going away. There will come a time (soon) when I get off my lazy a** and go tear it apart instead of diagnosing via CCTV.... Edit: Oh, I did fill 'er up with petro today. <--- keepin' on topic.

This is why I also try to get decent tires: They last longer = less changing. I feel for ya, ramblinman. Pr5ay it is right the first time....lol Hold the line and godspeed. mpj

I had 2 headlight body panels (beautifully painted in metallic purple) end up with dents due to the paint not properly harding, I'm wet sanding them again and applying heat to "cook" it this time.

Well yesterday... went to the tax office and got my tag. I can now legally ride the scoot. Yay!
edit: got home tonight with 40 minutes of daylight and no rain. Learners permit says no riding at night, so I did a quick 6 mile roundtrip over to Lake Lanier and back. Yes!

installed new air hose today, old one was split in half, was hoping it would solve my problem but i'm still having no luck tuning the carb. going to change the main jet and clean the carb tomorrow. hopefully i can get it purring again. today i noticed the clutch is taking its sweet time disengaging at idle. i see a trend starting... with nearly 16,000km i guess parts are going to fail.

Replaced all fuel/vacuum lines & filter. Upgraded the carb with a new 125 main jet. Also installed a Hi Performance air filter, CDI and coil from ScrappyDog.

I went for it today... an extended 27 mile ride. Since I got the scooter in Dec, I had ridden 47 miles total, the longest being 6 miles (day before yesterday). Today I took it on a much longer route, through some nice twisty foothills of the N. Ga mountains ( I live near Dahlonega). The scooter will do something above 60mph in the flats (I stopped at 60 because the limit was 50), but mostly I stuck to 50 mph (which is fantastic through banked curves, BTW). I'm really happy with all of this... a cheap winter project and now a cheap thrill!

That cheap thrill will last a long time if you stick around here and take care of it by changing oil and not over revving down hills and stuff. Really fun hobby,,I would say funner than riding a big bike,,Ive had plenty of them and the 150 scoot is so much funner!!!!
