Good thread, I am thinking about putting race cdi and rollers on my 150 italica. Great information in here about that....As far as the power to weight issue goes, that is crucial in getting takeoff power and top end IMO just like any other ride sport thats why jockeys weigh 100 pounds soaking wet. nice tuning!!!!! ;D You got it! Lighter riders mean faster bikes! Back in the stone-age of my teens, before "crotch-rockets" were dreamed of (and a 14-second quarter-mile at 100 mph was considered REALLY fast) I built my Harley chopper crazy-full-house for dragging for money. I weighed over 350 lb. and "Ole' Blue" would still turn an honest 11-flat at 130+ mph with me aboard. HOWEVER... My gal-friend was 4' 6" and weighed 76 lb. And Ole' Blue would run 10.8 at 137 with HER aboard... Cheesh, could that teensy girl ride! Those were GOOD days... No helmets, no insurance, no mufflers, no emissions, no problems... we were young, dumb and... well, you know... maybe living in a fool's paradise, but it sure was fun... LOL! That was in the mid-sixties, and I was17 years old, and 6'2 at 360 lb. Now, I'm 66 years old, and a "shrunk" shy 6'1"... A couple of decades of riding hard-tail Harleys WILL compress your spine (and give you the back-problems to go with it). However, I'm down to a more reasonable 235 lb. The Army did that clear back in '68... I can highly recommend it... Leo (sorta large, on a scooter sorta small) in Texas
