I just had a new roof put on the house back in November. Roofers charge by what they call "squares" 10'x10' sections. Maybe it's more or less in your area, but here a good rough ballpark figure is about $300 a square.
There's "gable" roof like old schoolhouse and "hip" roofs with different angles, maybe more like pyramid type. Hip roofs, of course they can charge a bit more for.
I ended up needing a bunch of plywood replaced, it was in very poor shape. $50 per sheet. Ended up needing 7.
It ended up being about $4k. I went through a contractor; actually family member of somebody I work with. He also subcontracts through other big roofing companies in my area. I got 3 estimates, with him, 4; and he was the cheapest by far. Home Depot wanted 8k, another big roofing company wanted 6500 and the other 6, but charged 100 per plywood sheet.

When I added on to my house I bought 2 extra squares of shingles from same lot so if I need repairs down the road the shingles will match in color and style. Aswell as age!. And awesome calculator
