I just found out my motor and carb are being shipped from scrappydog's today. When I chose this setup, I spoke with MO down there, and he gave it a thumbs up. The 100cc GY6/139qmb complete long case engine(50mm bore) AND the 23mm carb. Now ,i;m being advised not to install that carb without a high performance head/valves Keeping my original carb with original jets is no good either. What would you suggest

Yeah this one is the 23. some say it's too big unless you have a hi perf. head and valves. at any rate, i can't use my original without upjetting. I think the 23 will be ok, others say no It's still going to be a bigger displacement engine, (83 cc or so)therefore "breathe" more air. So,here, in the real world,(where people have "hands-on experience, installing and trying out these things), I need help in deciding to go with it, as is, or what jets to put in the original

The 23 will be ok I would try it and the worst is to have to use smaller jets.
Most of the stock carbs have the screws ground flush with the bowel and you have to drill out the Idle adj screw so you will be ahead you wont have to mess with the screws and stuff on the stock one

Wouldn't you need a bigger jet to run a 23mm carb to keep the a/f ratio right? More air can get in...so you need to get more fuel in?

I don't think so ,as it is already a performance carb. That's why they get 80 bucks for it.
