Well we had a blizzard here in the panhandle of Texas yesterday. My bride of 51 years made me a pot of stew and a pan of cornbread. I thought I would pop. Had to quit buying shirts with buttons because one poped off and nearly put a friend's eye out.

The year I retired we had 13 inches on Christmas day. I saw my old Sgt. and some of the guys in the coffee shop. I told them that I did not know when I had enjoyed a snow stordm as much as I* did that one. Had to tell one dof them that my mother and dad were married.

Cornbread and stew will definitely take the winter chill off and leave you feeling toasty and warm.

When I got done shoveling snow at my place I went over and did the neighbor lady's drive across the street. A little while later she brought over a big bowl of chilli as thanks for helping her. Boy did it hit the spot.

The only thing better than good food is free food. Over here we do beans, chile, and potatoes with tortilla or green chile stew with tortilla or just tortillas and chile...

now I'm hungry... I forgot Enchildas with beans and tortilla and the ever popular eggs with chile (both red and green) and potatoes and tortillas. Sometimes if we're poor though we just eat tortillas... We even have our corn bread with tortillas...
