a little FYI for anyone visiting this thread later on.... I just took my rocker arms off and came here trying to figger out how it worked. one of them was really stuck bad and then I noticed where the slot in the end was there's a threaded hole. stick a bolt in there and it gives you something to work with.

you can usually adjust the needle. I've used #4 washers on four wheeler and motorcycles to lift the needle up.

maybe they're glazed? or more likely cheap chinese pads. if you dont want to spend any money you can try cleaning them with sand paper but prob better to replace them.

its loose till the spring starts taking tension. after that you just got to know when to say stop. you'll feel it hit bottom.

mine was non-running when I got it for $300 but took $200 in parts to bring it up to ride-able/safe.

did you take the carb apart? I wonder if the rubber valve that lifts the main needle up and down tore.
