2014 Jonway 3,400 miles
Little compression, hand turning crankshaft feels crunchy, likely a damaged piston and cylinder. Small amount of steel powder in oil (none present in the previous oil change). Failure likely due to overloading, two full sized adults, highway speed and a series of truck-killing hills. Don’t like it, but not complaining.
Trying to decide whether to sell as a basket case or try to repair.
I found a service manual “1986 - 1995 Honda Service Manual for the CN250 Helix” online.
Looks quite similar to what I have but Mountain Dew and nitroglycerin also look quite similar. Don’t want to invest several dozen hours and $$ and have a failure due to some small piece of misinformation. Even R&R on this unit is significant plus a complete teardown to remove all debris.
Any experience?
Thanx
Gary

Got this response from GuitarMan On the Scooter Doc Forum. anybody else? Yep. Been there done that. Got rid of mine because it just never worked right again. Same bike. The Honda manual is the one for it except for the wiring and you can find that here in the library. I had more trouble from that bike than from any three stoolies put together. It's your choice, but be ready for some major issues unless you use Honda parts in the rebuild. Read more: scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/11571/overhaul-yy250t#ixzz3VDFyYAz9
