Please Help...
I was having issues with my MC-54-250B not being able to idle (unless it was set at 2K+) so I decided to replace the carb. Now that the new carb is in, the engine will start and it will idle nicely between 1-1.5K. The problem I'm having now is when ever I give it gas, the engine stalls. I've checked all hose condition and connections and all is good.
Any ideas as to why I'm stalling out?

What kind of fuel? Might make a difference. Also, I had some difficulty with stalls. I ended up raising the idle and that worked for me.

I burn premium. I tried with raising the idle, even at a higher idle as soon as I twist the throttle, it dies

Did you try adjusting a/f mixture screw? Just because the carb is new doesn't mean it is set to work right on all scooters, in all climates, at all elevations. It just needs adjusting. And your old one probably just needs a cleaning.
Go here.....http://itistheride.boards.net/thread/148/alleys-general-carb-adjustment-guide....guess you'll have to copy & paste. I can't seem to add a link when editing.

I have tried small adjustments of the A/F and no difference. Perhaps I'll have to try turning it 2-3 rotations and see if that does anything.

I have now tried the A/F adjustment from all the way closed to all open and every point in between and still she stalls out any time I twist the throttle. This is so frustrating. It will start and idle fine, but again, once I give it some gas it stalls out.
Could it be the fuel pump? It did manually check it and it seemed to work OK. Could it be intermittent? Is that a thing? Sad to say I am not an "engine guy" so maybe I'm missing something obvious? It just seems to me that something is preventing the additional gas to flow when I twist the throttle.

Did it stall with the old pump? Have you checked the fuel filter? If partially clogged, it would work as you say. Also, if the stall is new, make sure your airbox is tightly connected to the air intake on the carb. Hope that helps some...
