The new year is just around the corner, and I plan on moving up to a new 150cc. I've had the type of scooter picked out for months now, and have found several makes by several dealers, all within a couple hundred dollars of each other. Locally, I can purchase the scooter off the shelf for a bit over $2k, online I can get it for $1.4-1.7. The local store stood by their product for my nephew, taking care of any little problem he had without issues. I wrench on my scooters, and have never bothered with taking it in for work, but it's a plus knowing the dealer stands behind his product. I'm looking at purchasing a Znen Phoenix or ZN150T-18, also known as a SSR or Lance Phoenix or Pacifica, Xingyue ITA 150, Mororini Cassini, Rocketa MCR-12-150, and others. It's a 150cc with 16" wheels, all the models share the same basic body style with some differences (the Xingyue having the most different body). These seem to be the best deals I can find on this model, but I have not purchased from any of the online dealers, so any advice is appreciated! Znen SSR Pacifica 150cc - Power Ride Outlet $1459 (includes delivery)Rocketa MCR-12-150 - Power Ride Outlet $1329 (includes delivery)Motorino Cassini 150cc - Valley Scooters LLC $1699 (includes delivery)The Cassini is the most refined of the three, with chrome CVT cover, stainless steel bolts, and a very nice paint job, so I'm leaning towards it. I've found this model at several other online dealers as well, these two above seem to have good customer experience reviews, some of the others dealers carrying these models had either bad reviews or much higher prices. Any experience with Power Ride Outlet or Valley Scooters LLC? Anyone have one of these models with any advice? I'll be purchasing sometime in January, so I'm doing my research now hoping to avoid surprises later!

Jerry, I am not familiar with this line up, nor the dealers you mention... But I can add this; You sure do have good taste in scooters! I think the bottom one is the sharpest looking....
If memory serves correct, all 16" wheel scooters comes with the B-case motor... Lots of room for future upgrades!

If memory serves correct, all 16" wheel scooters comes with the B-case motor... Lots of room for future upgrades! Thanks! The 16" wheels are a major selling point for me, I've been riding on 10" for more than a year now, and I hate them! I've been riding bikes and motorcycles all my life, and I will never purchase anything with 10" wheels again. The tiniest chunk of missing asphalt or service pipe cover feels like a two month old pothole, my bones just can't take it anymore! The other thing is the availability of upgrades. I was worried several months back when I first started thinking about a 16" scooter, that there wouldn't be parts I could get ahold of easily. Luckily, I live in Vegas, and ScrappyDogScooters has all the b-case upgrades and replacement parts I could need only 15 minutes from my house!

One of the things that makes Valley Scooters stand out for me is the consistent recommendations by long time scooter forum members such as yourself, they seem to have a good rep going back for several years on all the old boards. Together with the fact their Cassini model looks very refined, I think the extra $200 over the other models is worth it. I'm sure if it was all spit-n-polish I would have found bad reviews, but I can't seem to find anyone bad mouthing them. And that is one sweet looking ride!

Jerry , I worked on the Cassini and the Bintelli both are very impressive the Bintelli does not come with 16" wheels . The cassini has 3 phase stator and dc cdi . If I remember you have a fuel injection kit , put that on that scooter I bet you would push 70mph .

No EFI kits, I actually like working on carbs, I'm a glutton for punishment!
If you got a chance to ride the Cassini you worked on, would you recommend any particular weight of sliders to start from (I'm 145lb)? I'm not looking for 70mph, just a good smooth 45-55. I'll wait to decide on a BBK after I ride it stock.
I will be ordering another of your advancing angle CDIs, the one you sold me last year is still performing perfectly! I'll probably order a chrome fan cover and some sliders at the same time to save on shipping. As always, thanks for the advice!

get 2000 on the clock before you change anything besides the oils . Depends where you buy it from it almost sounds like it could have different parts on it . One of the less expensive vendors offers a limited warranty , if you pay to upgrade its a twenty dollar difference . Stay with the vendors with banners here . By the way the rollers are I think 15x20 .

I've been riding for more than 50 years, most always Harley choppers and baggers. Nowadays, arthritis makes it nearly impossible to get on and off the big motorcycles. I discovered Chinese scooters 8 years ago, and got a Xingyue 150 off the Internet. It had all the "normal" problems associated with the breed, and I soon learned to do my own wrenching. While it was a real pain the first year, after working out all the "Chinese bugs" it was great transportation for nearly 7 years.
That being said, I finally traded it in on a used Kymco 250 for highway capability. I got it from a local B&M dealer, and that has been a real blessing. The old Grandvista has been totally trouble-free, but it's great to have someone to go to for things like changing tires and such. I definitely recommend buying from a good dealer if possible. If not, you can save a lot of money with an Internet purchase... I've done both, but have been happier with the dealer-purchase.
The large-wheel scooters do ride better than the smaller-wheel versions. When I had my dealer upgrade the 12" J-rated tires on my 250 to P-rated, he gave me a "loaner" scoot, a Kymco "People 200". It is the same type as those you are looking at. It's not a true 200 cc, but a regular GY6 aircooled 163 cc. I was VERY impressed! It handled much like a mid-sized motorcycle, and to my surprise, it had marvelous acceleration AND a top speed of nearly 70 mph. A whole different animal from the typical 150. I really liked it!
The performance and "feel" of these seems to vary considerably from one to another. So, if possible, I'd attempt to test-ride the scooter you intend to buy, but that would also involve buying from a dealership, or, buying a used one from an individual. I'd have no hesitation buying a used one made in Japan, Taiwan, or Europe. As for Chinese, I'd stick with a brand-new one.
Best wishes whatever scoot you settle on,
Leo in Texas

So, I had decided to order the Motorini Cassini, but when I called Valley Scooters and spoke to Linda, she let me know shipping from there to Vegas would be close to an extra $500. I had really wanted to order from them due to the reviews they have received across several scooter forums, oh well. So instead I ordered the Znen SSR Pacifica from Power Ride Outlet today. With a holiday coupon code and free shipping, I got it for $200 less than the Cassini model, but of course it doesn't have the nice chrome/stainless upgrades. This is my first order from P.R.O. so I will let everyone know how it goes. I did call ahead and asked if they had the burgundy one in stock, and they said yes, so fingers crossed! Now to kick the dogs out of the spot by the window for the next week or so while I wait for the truck to show up!

I would've recommended seeing if your local dealer would've come down any in price, but I'm a very firm believer in buying local whenever possible. If you always buy internet, those local guys won't be around when you do end up needing them--they'll have been forced to close. Added benefit--don't have to wait for the truck to show! But congrats on your new scoot. Have fun, tell us how things go, and POST PICS!!!!!!!! >'Kat

He doesn't carry any 16" models in stock, and lists the one I bought at a grand more than I got it for including shipping. Since he would have had to order it for me, I doubt he would come down that much in price, something sitting on the floor he wants to move he will wheel-n-deal on. I will still be recommending him to friends and those who ask where to go locally, he has treated my family right more than a few times, but for this purchase I had to go online. ...what was that? Did I hear a truck? Dang it, just the trash men!
