This cold weather riding is great " other then the frozen fingers, lol" I went on my normal 30mile rd trip Tuesday and had her at full throttle the whole 15 miles into town. There are not many cars on the rd at 4:30am around here . and at 17 degrees I managed to run 60+ mph uphill , and between 70-75 on flats and small declines " the 75 was on the small declines of course ". I hit 80mph down a steep hill by the Walmart in Uniontown and that was at only 8000 rpms ! Its something hitting 80mph on these small scoots ,lol. I was gonna take the scoot into town this morning around 4:30 am . I thought maybe I could beat the freezing rain . thank god I didn't take the scoot . it started raining about 2 mins after I left and the roads became a sheet of ice. I saw I truck flipped on its roof and another that wrecked. THere is no way I would have been able to ride it that . I would have either been walkin the scoot or on my as- .

I'm glad I don't have to deal with ice. It's bad enough dealing with people staring into their laps at their phones all the time.

The only cold weather riding I do is a rip up and back the alley to see how my changes or mods work. I don't like riding far unless its sunny and ..lol..or a tee shirt at night..thats perfect riding weather

I'm not sure , that was mentioned before but I have not looked into it yet. I should check it out. There is an ATV shop near my house that has them . they would make a huge difference i f I can get them to work.

For some reason its always colder here where I live then what it says in the forecast . Tuesday it was suppose to be 27 around 4:30am and when I got down the rd I saw it was 17 degrees ! There is a big difference between 27 and 17 when ur riding. It may be because I live pretty much right next to the Monongahela river. If im not mistaken it gets colder the closer u r to a river. Its suppose to be around 12 degrees this Tuesday morn . I'm probably gonna take the scoot unless the RDS are icy.

Ride enough and your hands should become used to it. Also, layer your torso so much that you feel hot before leaving the nice warm house. Most of your heat comes from your torso, so making sure it doesn't need to heat up there will gaurentee more body heat for the rest of your body. Wear loose gloves over some cotton gloves, this will create a pocket of air that will gather heat emanating from your hands, tuck the gloves into your sleeves to keep the warmth in.

Have any of you living in cold areas considered the 18 pole stator that dmartin95 found a source for? I would imagine that would generate plenty to power a heated jacket and gloves.
