I just bought a 2013 SSR Verona and since I'm waiting for payday to get it legal before I ride it, I'm going through and learning the ins and outs. (Plus, my street is being repaved, and I don't care to have my first ride on gravel.) It started right up, so I am thrilled beyond anything right now.
I noticed that the tail light is very bright, but it doesn't change brightness at all when I squeeze the brakes. This makes me a whole lot nervous not having a proper brake light. I feel really dumb, but I cannot seem to locate either the fuse box (!) or the brake light switch on my bike, both of which seem to be things to check, at least in my research so far.
Where should I check to figure out this problem? I will need to find the wiring at some point because I want to add a second tail/brake light up higher on the trunk so as to be seen better.
Thanks for any help.

To verify that the brake lights are always receiving voltage, JUST turn the key on and try to start it without squeezing the brakes. If it starts then that means the brake switch may be stuck on. So look by the brake handle and look for the brake switch usually by the front part of the handle where it attachs to the brake system.
Usually the brake switch has a push in button and is spring loaded. So when you squeeze the brake the button pops out of the switch and allows voltage to pass to the brake lights. When you let go the brake handle pushs the button in and shots off the brake lights. Alleyoop

Oh my goodness. *facepalm* I looked and there was a small piece of rubber stuck in the brake handle on the switch. Presumably it was there to prevent damage to the switch in shipping. I feel like a dolt now, but I do so appreciate the push to look there. Thank you so much!

Not a problem had to be a problem with the switch and turned out to be a simple fix. Alleyoop
