Just put in a 100 main jet. Just as bad if not worse. Lol what the heck??? Let me put in an older copper plug instead of iridium EDIT: Put copper plug, still bad! I took a "pocket cam" to capture the sound of the engine. You can clearly hear it breaking up. VIDEO

The carb is 17 mm I believe. Stock kymco original carb. Does the engine sound like it's not getting enough air?

You might want to try a new carb. No cracks in the manifold?You could also remove the carb spacer. They serve no useful purpose.Check for vacuum leaks. all tubing manifold and spacer. It does sound like a fuel/air problem.

petcock fuel pump sounds like at high rpm it's starving for fuel. heard that sound before in my life and it was useing all the fuel in carb and cant deliver anough...maybe......buford

Just checked for leaks at the manifold with propane. Nothing to report. Spacer has been removed a long time ago. All vacuum lines are intact and I don't suspect leaks. The only thing I can try is to swap my carb with the Roketa. Not sure if that will make any difference but it must be worth a try. Edit: I put the Roketa carb on and the engine only crackles on occasion but not nearly as bad. It didn't seem to have too much power either. The jet in there is a 4mm jet. It's the stock one for the Roketa. My kymco carb is a 5mm so I can't swap jets. Which leads me believe the jet is too big in my carb. But that also doesn't make sense because the plug should show rich condition. I'm so confused and baffled I'm not sure what to do.

Is getting a new keihin carb out of the question?Millsc suggested I get one, and I'm happy with it, It was not too expensive, around 30 bucks or so, and what I did was get a jet kit from parts for scooters. That way, you have like 10 different jets to swap out if needed. I think about 15 bucks for the kit.

Hey guys. I put my factory carb back in, put the 100 main jet in it, and shimmed the needle with two 3mm washers. I put the uni-filter back on and the scooter feels like normal. Good response to throttle, no crackling etc. I went for a ride about 30% throttle consistently. Cut the key off and stopped. Plug check looks bad still. But it runs so well?! Should I drill my jet out to a 105? or more? Here is the pic I just took of the plug:

I wouldn't drill it. If you mess up even a little you have waisted a jet. I would just buy a cheap set and then you can swap them out until you get it the way you want it.

I actually tried running without the air filter at all with the stock air box and it bogged.. I honestly think the tubing is too narrow for air flow. There is no restrictor to be found. The plug doesn't look lean to you? Still not seeing that tan color
