Rebuilt a scooter and it runs ok. Needs work, though.
Gunned it to about 7000 rpm (for a sec) on center stand.
Riding (under load) I get no more than 5000 rpm. It has take-off power but does not get "to speed".
The original top-end was a larger than 50cc (secret thingy) and was replaced with 49cc top-end.
Any thoughts or opinions on the matter?

Well you went down on POWER from the (secret thingy..63cc) so it will be slower and less top end.
With what you did and pretty much stock, your top end will be 30 or little over if your lucky.
Some may hit 35 stock but not many.

what kind of weights are in the variator? more likely than not,you're going to have to change them.probably too heavy for the 49cc.

My 63 does 47-48MPH. Not now anymore since I need a valve adjustment and a cvt checkup. Now it only goes 40MPH, 45MPH on a good day.

Yep definitely wrong, my Burgman 650 could do 106mph. Also the 150s most can barely do 55mph and most cannot reach that. The 50s most are 30 and maybe a little over.

Oops sorry, the 750 should have been a 500cc. My 750 does 103MPH. Anyway, it's a rough chart, like I said. And for the most part, it is correct. Those are top speed readouts of all my bikes (save for the 229 and the 750 which should have been for a 500).
Also Japanese bikes tend to go a bit faster than chinese bikes.

False speed claim are a big issue on this site. You get the newer people thinking their scooter is messed up. That whole chart is a waist. I have had 5 50cc scooters and not one that was stock went 40 mph GPS stock. I had one that would hit 42 gps but it wasn't stock. Stock 50cc scooter hardly reach 35. We won't even think about talking 40. If you start talking about a scooter with a bigger piston it's not a stock 50cc. I don't care if it came from the factory that way.

Right on PCB, putting up bad info is not good you then get the guys that start crying saying but mine only does 30(HAHA). I get in trouble when I say things are full of it(HAHA). Good to know someone else has some moxie around here.
